1. Stay in a beautiful beachside resort in Lesvos, Greece
Greece may have a well-earned reputation as being the birthplace of democracy – but it’s also home to an ancient form of spiritual meditation – henosis. Translated literally, it means unity – but it also carries overtones of contemplative thinking. The ancient Greeks also practiced the use of silence and solitude as a basis for self-reflection.
The times may have changed – but the surroundings haven’t – or at least that’s the impression you’ll get as you stretch out and relax at our picturesque Aeolian Village Beach Resort in Lesvos. The stunning views of the ocean remain just as they were thousands of years ago – meaning the sense of calm they promote has the depth of ages. The Aegean coast is the ideal setting for getting in tune with your mind and body – and a perfect spot to meditate and practise mindfulness.
2. Yoga Classes For Beginners and Experienced Yogis
A yoga week is ideal for both beginners and more experienced yogis. The week includes 12 yoga lessons - with classes held twice a day. Each day starts with a sunrise yoga class at 7.45am, followed by a sunset yoga class at 6pm. The yoga classes last 60-75 minutes so you'll have plenty of time to relax in between and set your own pace.
If you are new to yoga, under Diane Lee’s careful guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to learn an array of yoga poses, the steps for correct alignment, breathing techniques and meditation. You’ll be able to progress each day and embark on a journey of self-discovery for both your body and your mind. For the more experienced yogis, the yoga week will enable you to deepen your practice, improve your alignment and explore new techniques.
3. Transform your body, mind and soul with daily yoga practice
A yoga retreat is not just about the yoga poses but also about nurturing your mind, body and soul. Yoga encourages you to be present in the moment, be kind to yourself and others, and connect your mind and body. Diane Lee’s classes are centred on this approach, while also covering wellness, nutrition and spiritual development.
4. Meet new like-minded people
Whether you are travelling solo or with friends or loved ones, a yoga retreat is a great way to meet like-minded people and forge new friendships. During the yoga week, you can enjoy meals together and participate in a wide number of activities.

6. Explore Lesvos
Just a 15-minute walk away from Aeolian Village lies the fishing village of Skala Eresou, known for its relaxed, bohemian atmosphere. As the birthplace of Sappho—often regarded as the first lesbian poet—Skala Eresou has long been a beloved destination for the LGBTQ+ community. Yet its charm extends far beyond, attracting families, honeymooners, and locals alike.
Yoga Week FAQs
What do I need to bring on a yoga retreat week?
For your yoga retreat week, in addition to your normal holiday packing, we'd recommend bringing a beach towel, a yoga mat, a reusable water bottle, and a notepad to capture any thoughts and reflections. It's best to practice yoga in light, breathable clothing, which allows you to move comfortably.
How good do I need to be at yoga to join a yoga retreat week?
Our yoga weeks are suitable for all levels. While you don't need to have much yoga experience, you do need to be happy moving through classes of up to 90 minutes. Yoga is about taking things at your own pace, so there is no need to worry about what everyone is doing - just concentrate on your own experience.
Can I join the yoga retreat week as a solo traveller?
Yes, absolutely! Our yoga weeks are designed to create inviting, sociable spaces where it's easy to meet new friends, or equally enjoy some peaceful alone time.
