What's included in a Mark Warner summer holiday, and what isn't?
Planning a summer holiday and wondering exactly what you’re paying for? It’s a fair question. At Mark Warner, we want you to know precisely what’s in the price before you book; no surprises when you arrive, and no mental arithmetic on the beach.
The short answer: quite a lot. From your flights to your final breakfast, most of what makes a great holiday great is already taken care of. Here’s a proper breakdown.
What’s included in your holiday price
Flights and transfers
Your holiday starts the moment you book. Return flights and airport transfers to your resort are included, so there’s nothing to organise and nothing to chase. You land; we pick you up.
Breakfast and dinner, every day
Evenings at our resorts are something to look forward to. Half-board dining means a proper breakfast to set you up each morning and an evening meal every night. Menus change daily and use fresh, locally sourced ingredients – whether you’re after something light before an evening swim or a full meal after a day on the water.
Heading to Phokaia in Turkey? The board basis there is slightly different. You’ll enjoy full-board on five days per week – breakfast, lunch and dinner included on those days. For the remaining two days, only breakfast and lunch is included with an open choice for dinner leaving you free to explore local restaurants at your own pace.
Watersports - included, not extra
This is where a Mark Warner summer earns its reputation. Windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding are all included in your holiday price. You don’t need to be an expert, there’s expert coaching on hand and conditions that suit every ability, from complete beginners to those who want to refine their technique. You also have wingfoiling and wingsurfing available in Aeolian Village and rowing in Paleros.
Want to go further? Waterskiing, wakeboarding and scuba diving are available at most resorts for an additional charge. Ideal if you’re after something more specialist.
Tennis, fitness and more
Watersports get a lot of attention, deservedly, but the activity programme goes well beyond the beach. Tennis courts with qualified coaching, padel, pickleball, boules, resort bikes, aqua aerobics and fitness classes are all part of what’s on offer.
Activities and timetables vary slightly by resort, but the principle is the same: staying active doesn’t cost extra. For a full breakdown of activities in each resort see our guide here.
Kids’ clubs and childcare
If you’re travelling with children, this one matters. Kids’ clubs for children aged 2 to 17 are included in your holiday price. Each age group has its own dedicated programme. Activities in and around the water, games, beach days, crafts, all led by teams who know resort life inside out. Children under 2 can join childcare programmes for an additional charge.
For parents, it means mornings on the water, afternoons by the pool, and the kind of holiday where you’re genuinely relaxed rather than just physically present.
Evening childcare: If you child is booked into day kids clubs then evening childcare is also included in your holiday if you want to use it. running from 7:30pm till 10:30 pm for children from 4 months up to 17 years old.
What isn’t included?
It’s just as useful to know what’s not in the price.
• Drinks are not included at any of our summer resorts. Wine with dinner, soft drinks, cocktails at the beach bar, these are all paid for separately.
• Lunches are also not included at our Greek resorts (Aeolian Village, Lemnos and Paleros), though as mentioned above, Phokaia includes lunch every day.
• Holiday additions: Spa treatments, à la carte dining upgrades, specialist watersports courses, such as an RYA sailing course or a dedicated windsurf clinic and some tennis coaching or equipment upgrades are paid for separately if you choose them. These aren’t standard inclusions, but they’re always there if you want to add something extra to your week.
Which resort is right for you?
Our four summer resorts each have their own character. Here’s a quick flavour:
• Aeolian Village – Greece, on the island of Lefkada. Sheltered bay, excellent sailing and winging, brilliant for families with younger children.
• Lemnos – Greece. Reliably breezy, ideal for windsurfers who want to make real progress.
• Paleros – Mainland Greece, our flagship resort with the widest sports and activity programm. In a calm bay it's perfect for beginners and children taking to the water for the first time.
• Phokaia – Turkey. Warm and social, with the longest activity season and a full-board option that makes budgeting easy.
