Watersports Holidays Europe

Say hello to a watersports holiday where you can sail on, ride high, and dive in. Mark Warner resorts are made for exhilarating watersports moments.

In fact, nothing makes us happier than delivering unforgettable experiences on the ocean. That’s why our beach resorts are handpicked for their ideal locations and weather conditions. And why our first class, experienced instructors are always on hand to help you achieve new things and stay safe.

At all of our beach resorts, we offer free tuition in windsurfing and sailing, together with all the latest equipment to suit every ability. And, if you are already accomplished in your chosen watersport, you are welcome to take to the water independently. Or, you can hone your skills further via one of our accredited sailing and windsurfing courses or one-to-one private tuition.

At Mark Warner, kids get in on the action, too. Children booked into our childcare—that includes the Junior, Kidz and Indy clubs—get to take part in free watersports lessons from sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding to kayaking alongside their new friends which means if you’re looking for an excellent family watersport holiday that everyone can enjoy, you’ve come to the right place.

The waterfront is open in all resorts every day except on transfer days. Check out the range of sports on offer as part of our watersports holidays below.

Sailing

Whether you are an experienced sailor or a beginner, Mark Warner holidays are ideal for sailors of all abilities. We have free tuition on offer for all guests who want to enjoy a taste of the sailor life.

For those that want to take things a bit more seriously, we have a range of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses. Adult and youth courses are split into distinct levels based on where you believe you’re at. By the end of the week, you will have mastered the basics and can confidently take to the water.

Our next Mark Warner Sailing Regatta Weeks take place this summer at our Lemnos Beach Resorts on the week of the 13th September 2024 and Phokaia Beach Resort on the week of the 1st October.  The dinghy racing week involves dinghy and multihull racing, coupled with race tuition, clinics and feedback sessions to improve your performance.  There is no charge to join our Sailing Regatta Weeks.

Wing Foiling and Wing Sailing

If you want to be part of the fast-growing number of WingSurfers and WingFoilers, then Mark Warner Aeolian Village Beach Resort is going to be your resort of choice. These are the latest Watersports to be seen around the UK, and are fast becoming the best and most convenient way to get out and get going on the water. From beginner to competent Winger these sports could not be easier to try out.

Aeolian Village has near perfect conditions with great wind and flat water making it an ideal place to learn this exciting sport. We offer a number of courses - Intro to WingSurfing and Intro Plus WingSurfing so you easily learn the basics and start your Winging journey.

Windsurfing

Free windsurfing tuition is on offer at every one of our beach resorts. With classes for beginners, refreshers and improvers, you can find the right match for wherever you’re at with the sport. If you’re after advanced level classes, our Lemnos and Aeolian resorts are the best options for you.

We also offer the chance to gain a windsurfing qualification via our RYA accredited courses for both adults and kids. And there’s private, one-on-one tuition available if you’d like to progress through classes tailored just for you.

Foiling

For experienced sailors and windsurfers Mark Warner offers the chance to learn foiling to take your chosen water sport to the next level.

Foiling involves the addition of hydrofoils to your boat or board that act like wings to lift the hull out of the water, reduce drag and reach much higher speeds even in lighter winds.

Stay at our Lemnos, Aeolian or Phokaia resorts and you’ll have the chance to try your hand at foiling if you are a sufficiently proficient sailor or surfer already.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

At all of our resorts, guests can try their hands at stand up paddle (SUP) boarding for free. Originally hailing from the shores of Hawaii, the sport has made its way across the ocean and taken off in a big way around the Mediterranean.

SUP boarding just so happens to be an incredibly easy sport to get to grips with. You don’t need to go through an extensive course. We’ll give you an intro, where you’ll be shown how the board operates, how to use your paddle and what to look out for. This usually takes less than an hour, then you’ll be ready to pick up your board, paddle out and go for it.

Many guests come back to SUP again and again, especially those who aren’t into the crazy adrenaline rush of some of the other watersports. Always a popular activity in the Indy social club, anyone aged 14 and above has the opportunity to try SUP during their stay with Mark Warner when you book one of our SUP holidays.

Kayaking

At each one of our resorts, there’s arguably no better way to explore the local coastline than in a kayak. You can glide through the waters at your own pace, allowing you to get truly immersed in the tranquil surroundings. As one of the gentler watersports on offer, kayaking holidays are perfect if you want to get out on the water but would rather not sail or windsurf.

All our resorts have kayaks available to take out free of charge. Our fully qualified instructors will help you carry your kayak to the water and even offer you a few tips and pointers if needed. There is no time limit so you can spend as long as you want exploring and admiring the local landscape.

Children booked into our childcare programmes—including Mini, Junior, Kidz and Indy Clubs—have kayaking sessions included in their programme. Especially for kids that are a little nervous of the other water activities, it’s a great way to have fun out on the ocean with new friends in a safe environment.

Waterskiing & Wakeboarding

We provide a free lesson on dry land to take you through the waterskiing or wakeboarding basics. This helps you get the most of your sessions—which are run on a pay-as-you-go basis—and maximises your fun on the water.

If you’re keen to sharpen your skills, we run beginner and improver courses for waterskiers and wakeboarders. These include four sessions designed to help you master your technique.

In all our waterskiing and wakeboarding sessions, we use the latest equipment with standard and wide combo skis for beginners and a good selection of mono skis, wakeboards, children's skis and kneeboards.

Scuba Diving

Discover the colourful underwater world on a diving holiday with Mark Warner. Our PADI  and SSI registered dive schools have a number of courses to suit all abilities, whether you are just starting out or have a diving qualification already, so anyone booking onto one of our holidays is sure to get the most out of it.

Mark Warner works with local scuba diving schools at our Paleros, Aeolian Village, Kamari and Phokaia Beach Resorts, all of whom offer a varied mix of courses and dives for adults and children from 10 years upwards in Greece and from 15 years upwards in Turkey.

Rowing

Like the sound of an all-body workout, while admiring stretches of stunning Greek coastline? Then get yourself on one of our rowing boats, available at Paleros Beach Resort and Aeolian Village Beach Resort.

Whether you’ve rowed around open waters before, or are just all-too familiar with your gym’s rowing machine, this activity is one for every sport lovers’ list. With up to eight people in a boat, it’s also one of the most sociable watersports activities you can try. Make new friends or new memories with family as you move in synchrony across the turquoise shores.

Our expert instructors will prioritise your safety at all times, and give a lesson on dry land before you set off. High-quality equipment, including buoyancy aids are provided. You can book a rowing session in resort.
