Paleros Beach, Greece

I have been on Mark Warner holidays before and will go again. They have never failed to deliver in all respects. This time I took a friend who said they would only come when I said they were not obliged to participate in the activities. Needless to say I couldn't keep up with her doing all sorts of sports neither of us had done before plus others!! We had the best time ever and my friend was planning her next trip with MW on the way home.

Great location not too far from airport.
Using the defunct Kamari Rhodes flights on the Saturday was inspired since no very early flight to catch.
Only drawback was the doubling up of introductory welcome meetings etc. However the bonus was that the site did not "shut down" many activities on changeover days as previously for fortnight holidaymakers.
Comfortable and well maintained rooms with coffee and tea making facilities.
Waiting and cleaning staff very attentive and very friendly.
Variety, quality and standard of food at breakfast & dinner was very good and bar prices reasonable.
Site well maintained except for walkway lights, of which a large number are non functioning which is not great when returning to room far from bar in the dark.
Lots of activities to participate in hence why i stayed for two weeks.
Adequate equipment and facilities provided in most areas apart from two Padel courts which were "mobbed" and heavily booked due to popularity in UK.
The maintained standard of the inherited Kamari Cannondale road bikes and Paleros Scott bikes were a disappointment since they are very "tired" and require tlc but understandable due to their age and the hammering they receive from guests each season.
The plus point being that there are now lots more bikes! The guided cycle rides were accurately graded and competently led.
The free tennis and padel clinics were a great innovation but why no Pickleball clinic?
Rowing boats and canoes were great to use.... it is just a shame that the water area is so confined that one has to paddle or row in a square!
There was the alternative to use the small well equipped gym with a cycle, rowing and a running machine if the beach/cycle areas were closed due to foul weather.
One big proviso with this review is that it was the first two weeks of the season so everyone was super enthusiastic and some of the equipment was in prestine cobdition. Also a lot of my fellow guests had been transferred from the now defunct Rhodes Kamari site which had a far better evening entertainment program.

Hotel clean and food excellent. Manager friendly and approachable. As usual dinghies need to be better maintened. Sadly not enough windsurfing sails, but plenty of boards.

Comfortable, relaxed chalet hotel with great hospitality, lovely food and fantastic staff who were so cheerful and helpful. Perfect for a family holiday and sociable too for lone travellers. We had a brilliant week and loved the resort too. The transfer from the airport was very straightforward and the Sunday departure a bonus as the slopes were wonderfully empty on the Saturday!

Really enjoyed the balance between chalet style accommodation and food with hotel facilities (bar, pool etc). Rooms were a good size. Staff did a great job.
Hotel is looking a little tired in places, could do with some maintenance (hooks fallen off the wall, lights not working). Pool area lacks a jacuzzi - pool temperature quite cool.
Hadn’t anticipated the 5+min walk to children’s ski lessons each day.
Hadn’t anticipated unsold rooms would be sold on to non-MW guests.

Firstly I would like to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. It is the first time we have done a chalet hotel style holiday and I would definitely recommend it. The chalet was great with a very friendly cosy atmosphere, the food was fantastic. The location is perfect especially for the bus stop to Le Lac. Our ski school meeting point was in Le Lac and I honestly think it was easier getting the bus than it was walking in your boots to the ski school in Val Claret.
Just some areas that need attention to make this place perfect. The spa needs refurbishing and the gym looked like a store room. There was no tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms which was disappointing. You could get drinks from the breakfast room but it’s not the same as enjoying a cuppa before getting up and dressed. Some areas of the chalet looked tired but nothing a bit of decorating couldn’t sort.
Overall a great experience and the booking process was so easy as everything is sorted for.

Excellent service and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The only fault that was not as expected was the WiFi in the room which did not work.

Hotel was excellent. Staff were all very helpful and kind. My wife broke her arm during our stay and Ali & Kat were very helpful in getting it sorted. Tom translated some medical notes for us which were in French.

We had a great holiday thanks. Staff were helpful and quizzes were fun. Bit disappointed that the pool and Jacuzzi were so cold but otherwise there was everything we needed.

Well located chalet hotel in the heart of Tignes highest village , Val Claret 5 minutes from the main lifts via the frequent free bus service . Traditional wood interior with spacious common areas and an open wood fire . Great food with wide choice of options . The hot buffet breakfast and afternoon tea with fresh cakes were a particular favourite.
Staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel really welcome
Rooms were compact , perhaps a little too warm at night but the beds were comfortable and the bath / shower combination allowed a refreshing morning wake up and a welcome hot soak after a day on the slopes.
The attached , spa pool water was a little cool to linger in but the saunas worked well .
Decent value too in one of Europe’s premier ski resorts.
Overall an excellent skiing venue.
