For skiers and snow boarders who enjoy venturing off piste, Tignes is one of the best places in France for off-piste skiing. The extensive size of the Espace Killy ski area which serves Tignes and Val d’Isere, ensures that there are endless opportunities to escape the busy pistes and venture off the beaten track into fresh powder. Off-piste skiers and snowboarders flock to Tignes because of its abundance of easily accessible off-piste areas. Below we have highlighted the best of the off piste areas in Tignes.
Off Piste Lessons in Tignes
To truly experience the magic of Tignes and the Espace Killy ski area, exploring the vast off piste areas of the mountains is a must. Mastering the art of skiing well in deep, fresh powder can be difficult, even for the most seasoned of skiers and snowboarders. Mark Warner will be running two Off-Piste Weeks this winter, where Henry's Avalance Talks offer off-piste lessons for intermediate and advanced skiers to learn to ski off-piste with confidence as well as understanding how to ski safely in these conditions. As the Espace Killy has a great number of off-piste areas to explore, taking an off-piste lesson is also a great way to familiarise yourself with the area with an experienced guide.
Off Piste Skiing Areas in Tignes
Tignes has some great off piste skiing areas around the three hamlets which make up the town. In Les Brevieres there are plenty of off-piste areas to explore. Other Off Piste Areas in the Espace Killy
The Espace Killy is renowned for its great off piste sections throughout the skiing area. Here you will find some of the best off-piste areas not only in the Espace Killy but the Alps.
