As one of the best ski resorts in France, La Plagne is full of wonderful winter activities for all to enjoy during a thrilling ski holiday. If you are looking for something fun to do during your stay at the Mark Warner Chalet Hotel Christina, there are many in-door and out-door ice rinks located around the town, mostly within walking distance from your accommodation.
What better way to take in the picturesque surroundings during an Alpine ski trip than floating around the open-air ice-rink with your loved ones. This is the ideal activity for any non-skiers and a fantastic way to create unforgettable memories with your children during a family holiday. Whether you are an experienced or beginner ice-skater, all are welcome on the rinks of La Plagne.
For a naturally created ice-rink, wander down to the ice-rink located next to the Plagne Bellecôte cable car which is just a short 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from your Mark Warner hotel. Here you will find that a separate part of the ice-rink is especially reserved for beginners, meaning that those who are a little uneasy on the ice can skate around at their leisure. For those who prefer to engage in more tactile sports on the ice, there is a separate section for ice-hockey.
Children must be at least three years old to use this rink. For those who would rather watch on the side-lines, there is a lovely cosy cottage next to the rink where you can relax and enjoy a drink or bite to eat in the bar and restaurant area. The open-aired ice-rink is open every day from December to March, costing around 4€ to 7€ for adults and 3€ to 5€ for children.
La Plagne is one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in France boasting endless winter activities for all to enjoy during a Mark Warner ski holiday. If you are looking to do something a little different off the slopes, why not go and explore the mystical ice cave situated at a height of 3,000m.
Huddle up together on the Plagne Bellecôte cable car until you reach the ice cave. Here you will be able to wander around and be in complete awe at the natural beauty of the cave and the remarkable ice sculptures surrounding it.
Have you ever been swimming in the great outdoors while surrounded by snowy white mountains? If not, add it to your list when visiting La Plagne. If you find yourself with an extra day off the slopes, jump on the free shuttle bus to La Plagne’s very own outdoor swimming pool, Piscine Bellecôte. This spectacular swimming pool is heated to a very comfortable 29 degrees meaning that no matter how cold it is outside, you are sure to be nice and warm in the water.
