Say “Ooh La La” to our choice of French ski resorts. We handpick the locations we believe offer unbeatable slopes and unparalleled accommodation. There are several ski resorts that our guests love, with Tignes, Les Deux Alpes, Méribel and La Plagne being the best of the bunch.
Tignes in France is renowned for being one of the most exciting resorts on the European ski scene. With excellent snow conditions due to it being one of the highest ski resorts in Europe, it’s a ski/snowboarder’s playground and has something for all skill levels.
Two of our most popular hotels are found here: Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin and Chalet Hotel Aiguille Percée. Both hotels offer family rooms. The stunning glaciers in the area make skiing in spring a great option. Moving around the area is made easy with a free shuttle bus service and plenty of ski lifts. Tignes is also the best spot for activity lovers who want to do a little bit more than skiing, with an eclectic mix of things to do including ice diving, helicopter rides, bowling, ice skating and indoor sports.
This area of the French Alps is a big hit for families with a short transfer time of only 1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport. Chalet Hotel Bérangère is loved for its ski-in, ski-out location which makes getting to ski school and accessing lifts a doddle. Les Deux Alpes is perfect for beginners with easy slopes and snow-sure conditions guaranteed. It’s also a good choice for single skiers with competitive room prices.
The hotel’s restaurant is the largest in our ski programme; making it ideal for socialising and hosting large groups. Enjoy some of the best après ski and if you’re into music, the famous Rise Festival takes place in December. Just a short distance away, the picturesque village of Venosc is perfect for hikers and walkers to explore the magnificent scenery.
Méribel in France is one of the biggest resorts on the Europe ski circuit. The amazing ski in, ski out location of Chalet Hotel Tarentaise makes it a highlight; skiing out from the boot room onto the slope is the dream and ski hire is also available at the hotel. The first run from the hotel is green which is perfect for beginners.
Some of the finest and exhilarating snow activities are available to try in the area including snowmobiling, snowshoeing, a dreamy horse-drawn sleigh ride, thrilling toboggan down a lengthy course of 3.4km and indoor ice skating, along with ice hockey games to watch. To keep up your fitness routine, the Olympic Centre situated in Méribel has swimming pools and gym classes.
Méribel Village is also known for its thriving nightlife with a top après ski scene hard to beat!
Designed for all levels of skiing, La Plagne in France is well rounded for the choice of easy blue and green slopes for beginners and off pistes for more advanced skiers. Excellent snow conditions are found in La Plagne. The ski in, ski out location of Chalet Hotel Christina is a big advantage with ski lifts and schools located nearby for extra convenience. Rooms at the hotel are designed with a cosy, traditional, alpine feel for a delightful stay.
For new experiences, there are some unique snow activities to sample, including dog sledging, an Olympic bobsleigh run and a cool igloo experience in the resort. All of these activities add that extra touch of magic to your winter wonderland holiday. There is also an ice rink for all ice skating fanatics. There is also a buzzing après ski scene with lively Scotty’s Bar being highly rated by guests.
This area in Austria is where you can expect a party atmosphere, with as much focus on après ski as there is on hitting the slopes first thing. Chalet Hotel Rosanna is an adult-friendly hotel (children can stay during school holidays) that has a wide range of slopes for all skill levels, as well as pristine cross-country trails. There are also some fantastic attractions too, with the superb Ski Museum, snow parks, toboggan run and Arlberg Rock climbing centre just a few of the off-piste activities you can try out when looking for something different.
