The beautiful Greek island of Lemnos, located in the North East of the Aegean Sea, is an ideal destination for holiday makers looking for fantastic weather and stunning scenery. Quieter than some of the other, well-known Greek islands, Lemnos has retained its traditional, Greek character. While holidaying on the island at Mark Warner’s Lemnos Beach Resort take some time to explore the local shops where you can pick up everything from a holiday memento to sun cream or beach snacks.
Just a short ten-minute drive from Lemnos Beach Resort, Lemnos’s capital Myrina is known for its beautiful, traditional shopping street. Located near the waters edge, this is the best place to find traditional Greek produce including cheese, jewellery, honey, olive oil and wine. If you are looking to for a touristy memento to remind you of your trip, you will also find plenty tourist shops here. A great gift for loved ones at home or for yourself, the local artisan shops have a beautiful selection of hand-made goods including wood carvings, paintings and woven fabrics.
While in town, pick up some beach essentials from one of the nearby supermarkets. Here you will find everything you need for a fun afternoon in the sun including snacks, sun cream and even bathing suits. After a morning of shopping take some time for yourself and enjoy a refreshing drink from one of the local restaurants along the shore line.
Mark Warner’s Lemnos Beach resort is ideally located close to many of the islands shops and amenities. This handy location means that visitors can easily nip to and from the shops without taking much time out of your holiday. Guests can shop for souvenirs in the morning before heading back to the resort for an afternoon on the water windsurfing or sailing or exploring the historical sites on the island.
