San Lucianu Beach Resort is a great watersports location, with a good mix of light to moderate wind conditions and a fantastic gently shelving beach, reassuring even the most apprehensive of beginners.
The mornings see cross onshore winds coming from the right with an average force 2. This means the water is lovely and flat, perfect for learning to sail, windsurf, kayak and SUP board. In the afternoon the wind will pick up to force 3-4 blowing cross onshore from the East providing better conditions for intermediate sailors and windsurfers.
At all of our beach resorts we offer free tuition in windsurfing and sailing with our expert instructors to suit every ability from beginners to advanced. You can sign up to an introduction lesson to learn the basics as well as refresher sessions and clinics. Plus if you are already accomplished in your chosen sport, you are welcome to just take to the water independently, where our safety boats are always nearby to ensure maximum enjoyment out on the water.
We offer a range of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses in sailing for both adults and for children who want to develop thier skills further during their holiday, coming away with a qualification at the end of the week. Please note, Windsurfing RYA courses are not available at San Lucianu.
If you want to soak up the sunshine out on the water, but fancy something a little more lighthearted and gentle you can take out a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Kayaks are perfect for heading out as a pair or solo as each kayak can seat two people.
Please note: The waterfront is open 6 days a week from 9am to 5.30pm and is closed over lunch in off-peak season.
