Leah Oldroyd

General Manager

Hello, I am Leah, I started off my season life as a tennis coach back in 2010, and I have been very lucky to work in some fantastic countries such as Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Australia, France, Austria, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I love working in different countries as I find different cultures and languages fascinating. I am very sporty and you will see me trying my luck at both land sports and watersports throughout the summer. One of the reasons why I love Phokaia so much is the village of Foca that is 2.5k away. It’s a beautiful fishing village and very authentic, there are lots of little bars and fresh fish restaurants around the fishing harbour and the yacht marina. The locals are so welcoming.

I am so excited to be back to Phokaia Beach Resort, it is my favourite resort for so many different reasons.

Yasemin Guler

Operations Manager

My name is Yasemin, I first started working with Mark Warner in 2022, as a sports admin on the waterfront. I am now the Operations manager at Phokaia. I love the Phokaia beach resort, and the local town, where I have lived in for many years. When I am not at the waterfront, I gravitate towards the Tiki bar, my favourite spot with its beach vibes and beautiful sunsets. I can’t wait to welcome you all to this beautiful country and excellent resort.

Hana Kenealy

Childcare Manager

Hello, My name is Hana I have been working for Mark Warner since 2019. As a childcare Manager, I really like having the chance to work with children of all different ages. I love the Phokaia beach resort because of the different activities, and the beautiful places you can chill and enjoy the views around the beach.

Oscar Golt

Waterfront Manager

My name is Oscar. I joined Mark Warner in 2019 as a Dinghy Instructor in Sardinia and have worked my way up ever since at a number of different Greek resorts including Kamari in Rhodes and Aeolian Village in Lesvos. I've also worked winter seasons in our ski resorts in the French Alps. My favourite things about Phokaia are the great conditions and sailing area, and the beautiful surrounding areas like Foça town. I look forward to seeing everybody out enjoying all the watersports we have to offer.

Food and drink at Phokaia Beach Resort

Quality dining is a big part of any Mark Warner holiday and the Phokaia Beach Resort delivers one of the best food and drink experiences in our line-up.

To kick off, there’s more included here than our other resorts. For 5 days in each week all meals are included and for the remaining two, breakfast and lunch are included in resort with an open choice for dinner.

There is an excellent selection of restaurants and bars on site, giving you the opportunity to mix things up a little as the mood takes you. Across all the outlets the Phokaia team deliver their own brand of hospitality that our guests consistently rate very highly.

All dietary needs are catered for, let us know in advance if you have specific requirements. Please note, all drinks are not included.

Dionisos Restaurant

The main hotel restaurant has a choice of attractive seating areas, both within the restaurant itself and on the terrace, overlooking the pool and sea below.

You can choose to enjoy all your included meals at Dionisos, starting with a hearty and healthy breakfast each day. A buffet of fresh fruit, breads and cereals is supported by freshly cooked items to kick start your day.

At lunch and dinner our chefs freshly prepare an extensive buffet that offers meticulously prepared local dishes from both Aegean and Anatolian cuisines as well as familiar international choices.

A wine list, rich in local choices, has been selected by the team who will be happy to recommend something delicious for you to try.

Agave Restaurant

New in 2023, Agave Restaurant sits down on the beach front and offers a more intimate dining setting.

One meal per week is included in guests board basis – booking essential and subject to availability. This will be 4 x meze starters; chicken kebab (or grilled vegetables as vegetarian option) with salad and rice for main, and a fruit dessert.

Guests can upgrade for £5 per person to the meat offering, which includes 7 x meze starters with salad and rice for the main course followed by fruit and local dessert.  There is also a fish option available for a supplement of £20 per person.

It is also offers a la carte dining on Sundays and a Turkish night every Thursday, on the 2 days when dinner is not included. Or guests can take the sunset taxi boat into the beautiful Foça for dinner.

At the Turkish night, guests will be able to sample a wide selection of Turkish hot and cold starters, lots of meat, fish, and vegetarian main courses and lots of amazing deserts. This is followed by Turkish evening entertainment.

Evenings to suit all tastes

Phokaia Beach Resort evenings are as chilled or as entertaining as you choose. Many guests opt for a relaxed catch up in one of the bars after a day in the sun or on the go.
The Mark Warner team organises some low-fi entertainment on a few evenings a week, that might include a quiz or a game of "Tipsy Tennis" for which tennis skills are little advantage!
The hotel also has its own entertainment programme that attracts both Mark Warner and other international guests from around the resort and is packed with live music and cabaret style shows for all the family.
What's more the childcare team always ensures our younger guests are well catered for with films, games and evening activities laid on for all age groups.
