Tours in Paleros

Surrounded by lush hills and with the clear waters of the Ionian Sea stretching out towards the island of Lefkada, you are perfectly placed to explore the gorgeous surroundings of Paleros Beach Resort.

Get out on the water

If you know your way around a dinghy or sail boat you can take to the waves yourself with one of the seas-going-crafts that are ready and waiting for you on the beach front.  Sail out into the bay to truly appreciate the gorgeous scenery that surrounds you.

If you would like to explore some of the hidden nooks and coves that make up the bay, a tour by kayak or stand up paddle board could be the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Included in your stay and with no time limit, you can easily spend the day enjoying the calm waters. Why not pack a picnic and find your own secret beach?

Explore with guided tours

Feel the fresh Greek air whizz past your face with a guided bike tour. Expert instructors from the resort lead daily tours on mountain bikes and road bikes. Keep things smooth and sleek on a road bike tour that hugs the coast roads of Paleros, giving you spectacular views over the bay. For the more adventurous, tackle a challenging trail ride that will take you from water level to outstanding scenery on hilltops.

Visit the island across the bay

Get first-hand experience of the island of Lefkas with a day trip to this gorgeous spot. There are regular bus tours and boat trips that will allow you to spend a day or a half day taking in all that this beautiful spot has to offer. History buffs can experience the tranquillity of Faneromeni Monastery. Set atop a mountain it offers views like no other and even a small zoo that makes it the ideal daytrip for the whole family.

If shopping is more your style, then make Lefkada town your next stop. The town centre has been pedestrianised so you can shop with ease. Find everything from traditional fish to clothes to gifts and souvenirs. Make sure to head along the main street to the harbour to find the Main Square, which is ringed by cafes that are ideal for enjoying a refreshing drink, a traditional meal and watching the world go by. Stay into the evening and you might just catch some traditional Greek dancing and music too.

Paleros and ancient Palairos by foot

With the village of Paleros only a short 30-minute walk along the coast, you can easily explore the area on foot. Packed with tavernas and seafront bars, take this opportunity to soak up Greek culture and enjoy a lovely walk back to and from the resort.

If you are in the mood for a longer walk, an early morning visit to Ancient Palairos is well worth the footfalls. Thought to date from 600BC, this ancient city is expansive and you can easily spend several hours exploring. Be sure to bring water to beat the heat!
