Swim Development Week is taking place on 16th September 2020 at Levante Beach Resort. It is a fantastic opportunity to improve your swimming ability and feel more confident in the water.
We are excited to introduce a brand new programme of swimming lessons at Levante Beach Resort. There will be group and private sessions running in peak season for guests to join and take their swimming technique to the next level. Group lessons are available free of charge for anyone aged 16 and over split into three ability groups: beginners, improvers and advanced. There are also private lessons available for anyone aged 3 and over, at a cost of €30 to be paid in resort.
Ally Eyles is the swimming teacher at Levante Beach Resort for both the group and private sessions. She is an ASA Level 2 qualified coach as well as being fully first aid qualified and having a wealth of experience of helping all abilities of swimmers reach their goals and improve their technique and confidence in the water.
As well as lessons available in peak season at Levante Beach Resort, we also have a dedicated week for those who want to devote more time to swimming whilst on holiday. This week consists of 1 hour of training per day, run by our expert coach with 30 years of experience, Norman Jones. The week will be split into 3 ability groups, consisting of:
Beginners: For those who cannot swim, the aim of this group is to build confidence in the water based in a friendly, comfortable and safe enviroment. The focus will be on learning how to swim on your front and your back, tread water, whilst learning how to enjoy being in the water. By the end of the week, you will be feeling confident to swim unaided and feel happy to do so.
Improvers: This group will welcome those who can swim, but would really like to improve their technique. Your class will concentrate on stroke technique, mainly freestyle, but will also include other strokes. The session will also give guidance on how to make the most out of swimming for fitness and increased speed.
Advanced: Perfect for advanced swimmers and triathletes. The week will be focused on stroke technique, mainly on freestyle, but also will cover butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke to help enforce good technique, as well as different breathing patterns. Backflips will also be taught on the session, along with tips on how to prepare for a training session; in order to maximize the time available in the pool. Norman will also provide helpful tips on open water swimming for both, pleasure and racing.
