Never been scuba diving before? Always wondered what doing it in crystal clear water is like? If you’re lucky enough to be taking a luxurious Mark Warner holiday to Phokaia Beach Resort in Turkey, you’re just a short journey away from scuba diving in one of the best spots in the Mediterranean.
With our local partners, you can get kitted up, taught all you need to dive safely and get in the water in no time at all. Scuba diving is all about exploring what’s in the water, taking your time to experience something exciting on holiday, and getting the chance to do something out of the ordinary on your holidays.
What you can enjoy when scuba diving in Phokaia:
Diving is provided by local company Foça Dalış. For anyone looking to book scuba diving, you’ll need to book it at the resort locally as lessons can vary in time. You can find a full list of their courses ahead of time at their website.
We’re very lucky that Phokaia Beach Resort is so close to the water’s edge. It’s a fantastic base to try out all the watersport activities in Phokaia, scuba diving in particular.
The Aegean Sea is known for having warmer waters, making it ideal for really getting out there. With the local area having lots of small bays and shallow spots, you can get close to marine life in the water in a way you just can’t with a dive closer to home.
When you book a scuba diving course, you will be given a full run through of the process and how to do it safely. First-time divers would best be suited for trying out one of the Discover Dive courses to get confident with using the equipment.
For already experienced divers, check with the resort to see if you can go on an exciting boat drive further out in the sea or an exclusive night dive to see the water in a whole new way.
If diving isn’t for you, or you want to pack your holiday with as much water action as possible, Phokaia Beach Resort is one of our best for its range of watersports.
Guests can also try out SUP boarding, an extremely easy to learn sport that anyone can get to grips with in just an hour or so, kayaking in the morning to ease your way into the day, sailing to take in everything the Mediterranean has to offer, as well as windsurfing and water skiing.
You can find out more information on the Phokaia watersports page.
