Corsica shopping

If you’re looking to shop for some local produce or pick up souvenirs, there is a diverse selection of small shops in Corsica where you find will what you’re looking for.  While you won’t find any large-scale malls here, there is something to suit everyone; from French and Italian designer boutiques to beloved local flea markets.

One of the best ways to shop is to visit the local markets selling souvenirs, gifts, local foods or leather goods. There is no shortage of these markets, you will find them scattered across the island in most small towns and villages. Shopping this way will give you a flavour of the real Corsica.

Moriani Plage

A short 10-minute walk from San Lucianu Beach Resort is Moriani Plage.  Here you will find some small clothing boutiques as well as a pharmacy and supermarket should you need to pick up any essentials.

Other small towns in Corsica

  • Porto Vecchio: If you are looking for a trendy boutique, whether it be for jewellery, cosmetics or clothes, Porto Vecchio is the place to be.
  • Calvi: There are lovely boutiques in Calvi itself, but just outside of town, there are small villages along the Strada di l’Artigiani in Pigna route that produces top artisans who offer exquisite handcrafted jewellery, pottery and blown glass.
  • Bonifacio: The old town is full of little boutiques and shops selling everything from clothes and jewellery to regional products from local craftsmen.  Shop until 11 pm during the summer months.

The stylish capital city is well known for its designer boutiques that are frequented by the famous and wealthy. Many of the shops in Ajaccio selling designer French and Italian brands are more expensive than what you would expect to pay on mainland France or Italy.

You will also be able to shop for keepsakes of your holiday like a local painting or wood carving.  Don’t forget to pick up some local Corsican cheeses and charcuterie to enjoy over a glass of wine, even if it’s not for taking home.

The second largest city on the Island is only a 40-minute drive from the resort and makes for the ideal destination if you are thinking about hiring a car for the day. Why not pick up some Corsican delicacies for you to put together a delicious picnic to enjoy on your way back from the City?  Make sure to pack everything you need to make a day of it.

If you are looking for something authentically Corsican to take home as a gift, the wine, Cap Corse would be perfect. Infused with orange and other fruits found on the island, why not take a taste of Corsica back for your friends to try?

Take this opportunity to pick up any gifts that you are thinking of taking back home so that you can pop them into the car to save you carrying them around all day. You’ll be able to find a wide selection of vendors and goods, so you won’t be stuck for something to buy for your loved ones.
