Autumn Skiing with Snoworks & Tignes’ Chalet Hotel L’Ecrin

01 Sep 2015

Skiing in autumn?! If you can’t wait for the main ski season to begin, you’re in luck – Mark Warner’s Chalet Hotel Ecrin in Tignes opens on 17 October 2015, a full seven weeks before most tour operators start their winter season.

An autumn ski holiday in Tignes offers the ideal opportunity to top up your before the main season, so you can reap the rewards on your next Mark Warner winter holiday. See our blog on Early-Season Ski Holidays: How, Why and Where to read about other reasons to consider an early ski holiday.

We’ve teamed up specialist Snoworks, who offer a programme of autumn ski courses including the renowned All-Terrain, to develop all-round skiing skills, and Race Carve for skiers who fancy developing carving skills and enjoying some speed.

Snoworks also offers Junior Race Training in the October half term for children who’ve gone beyond ski school. There’s also an extended eight-week training course for school-leavers that will enable them to qualify as a ski instructor by the end of December, starting on 24 October.

Snoworks’ entry level is for skiers who can cope with most reasonably groomed red runs. Their speciality lies in helping skiers cope with the mountain as it begins to change – as runs get steeper, bumps start to form, ice appears, visibility diminishes, and runs narrow and become busy. This is where most skiers hit the ‘intermediate plateau. It also specialises in off piste for skiers looking to begin this journey.
