Ski or Boarding in Val d'Isere
It's easy to see why Val d'Isere remains one of the best loved French skiing destinations. It's kept the charm and the feel of its rural village roots while growing into a modern resort with a lovely atmosphere. Flaunt some fashion if you must, indulge in the crazy nightlife if you care to, but more importantly come for the skiing as there's superb terrain and enough variety to suit everyone.
The nursery slopes are in the middle of the resort and beginners can discover easy runs in breath-taking scenery above the tree line. Stronger skiers have the vast Espace Killy to explore, from the challenge of the Solaise bumps to the wide open pistes of the glacier at Fornet. Off-piste enthusiasts are spoiled for choice and it's the perfect place to combine off-piste guiding and instruction.
Our Chalet Hotels in Val d'Isere
Within this picturesque region Mark Warner has two stunning resorts: the Chalet Hotel Le Val d’Isere and the Chalet Hotel Moris. Both are located just a stone’s throw away from one another.
The Chalet Hotel Le Val d’Isere is smack bang right in the middle of town, nestling right by a mountain. Open the curtains in the window and you’ll be met with the type of view that is everything you could ever imagine on a ski holiday and then some.
Walk right out the front door and within minutes you’re in the hustle and bustle of the vibrant village centre with its shops and coffee bars and lively nightlife. When you set out for the slopes in the morning, the hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the main ski lifts and ski schools. Inside, you’ll find a cosy bar and lounge, with comfy leather sofas and armchairs, perfect for unwinding in the evening or in the afternoon with a book if you fancy a break from skiing or boarding.
And what about when you just want to take it easy? The hotel’s heated outdoor pool is the ultimate way to fully unwind, or enjoy the sauna and Jacuzzi (run by Therapeos) for an extra cost. You can also relax in the large lounge area playing a few board games while checking in on things back home with free Wi-Fi.
And let’s not forget about the Chalet Hotel Moris too. If you are looking for a fun, lively atmosphere with plenty of après ski, this resort is ideal for you. You will find an adult only environment, located right in the centre of town, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains, you’re just a 5-minute walk away from the Solaise and Bellevarde lift stations and the ski school. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable, giving off that vibe of a cosy and traditional ski holiday, and there are plenty of single rooms available and a quad room suitable for a group of friends.
Inside the resort is the Moris Pub. It’s one of the more popular spots for a meetup if you’re inclined to indulge in a little après ski as the resort is exclusive to adults most of the year. During the school holidays though, the resort is child friendly which is great as it’s the closest resort to the ski school meeting points.
