The high snow-sure resort of Tignes, part of the 440km of pistes in the Espace Killy ski area is perfect for all levels of snow sports enthusiasts. Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin is situated on the outskirts of Val Claret village and only a ten minute walk (or one minute bus ride) to the 5 main lifts at Val Claret. The chalet hotel is conveniently only a 10-minute walk or short bus ride to the 5 main lifts in Tignes Val Claret, making it an excellent choice for hitting the slopes, browsing the resort shops and enjoying stunning walks around the lake. Built from timber in the traditional Savoie style, our property in Tignes Val Claret oozes charm and tradition with its alpine interior, spa and swimming pool. At the heart of this inviting chalet hotel lies a large lounge with local wood panelling and comfy sofas around an open fireplace. Perfect for socialising or relaxing after a day on the pistes. Enjoy sleeping in cosy chic inspired bedrooms, featuring embroidered fabrics, carved wood furnishings and flat screen TVs in the twins, doubles, interconnecting and family rooms. Plus many of our guest rooms have balconies.
In the relaxed restaurant, small and large tables give you the choice of eating with your partner or your family or joining new friends for a convivial meal. The traditional Savoie style flows through to the restaurant and bar. Small and large group tables are available and guarantee a lively, fun atmosphere.
Inside the hotel, you’ll find a warm welcome from our friendly staff. They’ll serve you a full English or continental breakfast to set you up for the day, followed by an afternoon tea with plenty of cakes, juices and assorted teas to go round.
Evening dinner will be the perfect time to reflect on your day on the slopes and unwind. A high tea is available for children 12 years and under.
One evening a week dinner is not served in the chalet hotel allowing you the opportunity to dine out at one of the excellent local restaurants.
The traditional Savoie style continues to flow into the alluring bar and lounge at this chalet hotel. The warm charm of this spacious bar is a great place to gather with friends and fellow skiers to socialise.
While tucked away around the corner is a cosy lounge with a roaring open fireplace, sofas with plump cushions and snug armchairs. The ultimate chill-out spot after a hard day on the slopes.
Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin is a popular hotel for families with the ski slopes 100m away. Childcare at the hotel is available for children from ages 1 to 12 years and must be pre-booked at an additional cost. From December 2019 we will also offer our Baby Club for ages 4 months plus.
The hotel crèche is colourful, fun and fully equipped with all the latest toys and books, cots, potties, bottle sterilisers and fridge.
There is a parents kitchen facility for late night feeds and a free evening childcare service if children are booked into day time clubs. Parents can relax over dinner for two or join a social table with fellow guests.

We work very closely with Evolution 2 ski school in Tignes, who offer a range of ski schools from 2.5 years and upwards.
Children 4 years and above, who are booked into our children's clubs and the recommended Mark Warner ski school will be dropped off and collected from ski school by our childcare team and from there bought back to the hotel where we provide lunch and afternoon activities (or return to ski school) all supervised.
For children that are not skiing and are booked into the children's clubs then a mountain of fun and games both indoor and outdoor awaits daily.
Pre-book your lift passes in the UK before you depart and they will be available at the hotel when you arrive, leaving you one less thing to arrange on your first day. Should you wish to pre-book then please do so no later than 2 weeks prior to your departure date.
The Tignes & pass is valid for all lifts in Tignes, plus one free entry to the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Tignes Le Lac with 25m swimming pool with any 2 to 15 consecutive day pass. Perfect for those wanting to explore further afield.
Please note that beginners do not need a lift pass for the first couple of days, as the beginners lifts are free to use- your instructor will let you know when to get a lift pass for your following lesson (from the tourist office or hotel).
A Tignes 6-day pass is valid for all lifts in Tignes. There are four free nursery lifts in Tignes. Reduced price passes are usually available at the start of the season.

Lift passes for children under 5 years and 76 years and over can not be pre-booked. They are available by showing photo ID proof of age at the lift pass office.

We have carefully selected a ski and snowboard hire shop that provides quality equipment, good customer service and value for money. A member of staff at Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin will guide you to the shop for equipment collection on your arrival day where your skis, boards and boots will be ready.

Lessons are not just for beginners though, if you are looking to improve your technique or build up confidence, booking lessons on your ski holiday will be the best way.
At Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin we are here to help with your ski or snowboard lesson booking. Evolution 2 provide ski and snowboard lessons for adults and children from 2.5 years of age.

The perfect place for weary skiers and boarders to relax and recharge their batteries in beautiful surroundings. The in-house spa has four therapy rooms offering a range of treatments, an impressive swimming pool with swan neck showers, a sauna and steam room.
