San Agostino really ticks
the boxes for our guests looking to relax and unwind on their
holiday. The hotel and its individual bungalow style rooms
are located on a long stretch of sandy beach, which feels
indulgently private. The layout of the resort makes the beach
its focal point, so whether enjoying a drink at the beach bar, or
reading a book on your sun lounger, the foreground
activity on the water is wonderfully relaxing.
There are plenty of
activities on
offer, social
tennis, group
windsurfing
and sailing
lessons and a variety of aerobic and fitness classes.
Solo travellers, single parents or groups
of friends are invited to a "social" dinner at the start of the
holiday, as way of introduction to fellow guests. Whilst
San Agostino is not far from Kalamata town, the beach resort
itself is in a quiet and secluded location. Because of its
location, the atmosphere at the beach and hotel bars in the
evening is great fun and our programme of
entertainment is well received.
For days out and excursions, you'll find the
area around San Agostino is rich in history. Koroni and
Methoni each have medieval castles, well worth a visit, and the
archaeological sites at Messini and Pylos are fascinating.
The ruins of Ancient Olympia are a two hour drive to the
North. For an evening out, or lunch on the harbour, the
picturesque town of Kalamata is just next door.
