Very enjoyable October half term holiday at Lakitira Beach Resort, Kos. Great weather always helps along with good hotel facilities and food, excellent Mark Warner and hotel staff and in particular the watersports team managed by Ben. We will be returning.

Our third trip to Lavante. Last year with grandchildren and their parents was fantastic so we repeated the dose this year in June. When they went home we, the old folk, stayed on for an extra week. Another visit in October tells its own story. Brilliant facilities, super staff. Looking forward to another trip next year. Can't stay aray.

Having traveled Wednesday to Wednesday I felt like a second class guest. Our welcome was far shorter, and did not include a discount on spa treatments for booking any that night. Not having children we wanted to meet other diners but this was only facilitated on the sunday night (letter under the door) which was a bit late for us. The room wasn't cleaned on the handover day for the other guests, even though we were still in that same room. The certificates were handed out on the saturday (not that that really bothered me!).
Having done a Mark Warner ski holiday in St Anton for the last 3 years in a row I am a great customer and a big fan of Mark Warner. Next time I would ensure i flew from London (we only did Manchester due to our diaries) and I would only consider the adult only week. I didn't appreciate that the resort would really only be full of couples with toddlers. Both are easy for me to resolve but I felt let down by Mark Warner. Given the extortionate single supplement, I may have to consider other holiday options next year.
I wanted to let you know how I felt second rate, very aware of being single! As everything else was spot on. Richard is an AMAZING trainer, all the staff were fab and the accommodation was great. The buffet was seem more upmarket if there were actually less options.
Thanks and hopefully I'll re-consider coming back.

We had a fantastic holiday. George is a very hands on interactive manager. He clearly cares about his job and has the respect of all the staff. The Mark Warner staff and the local staff were excellent. The chef and his team catered brilliantly for my special dietary requirements. All in all a great holiday the only problem was coming home!

What a delight to return for our 8th Mark Warner holiday after an absence of 9 years and find ourselves in the best resort ever thanks to wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings, magical island, delicious food, crystal water, friendly fellow-holidayers! Special mentions for George manager, Aggelos, Angela, Maria at beach bar......and also to Captain George and lovely Lisa. We didn't even mind our 80 step climb to our room 5 or 6 times a day as it was one way of dealing with too much good food! As other reviewers have pointed out, I do think if you advertise free wifi as a room 'asset' then it should actually reach the rooms too. Also, maybe a splash of colour within the rather drab brown/beige colour schemes of the bedrooms would lift the look, such as a bright colour paint around the mirror or bed wall? (And I speak as an interior designer) It would be nice to have occasion to promote the delicious Lemnos white wine and local honey and cheese. Water-skiing is too expensive! Only small niggles against a massive amount of praise!

I have no hesitation in recommending this resort. ALL the staff were wonderful, very friendly and
helpful. They made sure our holiday was a most enjoyable experience. The food, choice and variety, excellent. Although we shall have to go on a diet now we are back home!
This resort was smaller than previous MW resorts we have been to, but it had a very
intimate and welcoming feel.George the Manager is very hands on and can be seen
popping up all over the resort at different times ensuring everything is running smoothly.
He did an excellent job. There is so much to do we didn't have time to fit everything in,
so we shall definitely be going back again. Well done to all the staff at the resort and
thank you for making our holiday special.

Had a great week due to the superb service from all the staff whether Mark Warner or hotel staff. The hotel was quiet and suited us perfectly as never had to wait for anything, meals or sports, imagine it could be frustrating in peak season. Went out to eat, on the bikes, at lunch as there was not any atmosphere / ethnic Greek options available and think this could possible be improved. The staff in the restaurants were without fault and always smiled as if they meant it and being a bit quieter they took the opportunity to become part of the holiday, almost friends, rather than just serving the food and clearing up. Good training helps but good initial selection of excellent people and their continuing positive happy outlook at the end of the season was a real bonus. The Mark Warner staff were similarly very friendly and not jaded, as I have experienced elsewhere at the end of a season. The waterfront team were very friendly and encouraging to someone who was lacking in confidence after many years off the water, thank you. Special mention of Richie's (general sports) work ethic and demeanour - fantastic. Imagine will be back next year but again when it is quieter. Thank you all for a good week.

Absolutely fantastic way to spend our honeymoon. Thank-you to all the staff at Levante from welcome through to departure. Good range of food, didn't get repetitive over 2 weeks. Special mentions for Ella who got us both sailing and Niall who helped me through my RYA level 1. Now I'm officially hooked on sailing! All the waterfront staff very helpful and knowledgeable, willing to help with anything. And the bar staff all very friendly faces. Only fault could find was the Wi-Fi wasn't great but we don't go on holiday for that anyway! Only other thing I can say is we will be back because everyone is a winner on a mark warner holiday!! haha.

Accommodation (rooms and public areas) - all nicely done. Bathrooms are a bit cheap and nasty (shower doors don't shut and have poor sealing so the bathroom is flooded after showering. Chrome corner soap / shampoo unit is rusty after only a year of use).
Food is pretty good with lots of choice but it doesn't change much during the week. The 'themed nights' (Fish, Greek, Italian) are all the same except with the addition of, for example pizza & taglietelli on the Italian night and rather bizarrely 'Prawn Paella' on the fish night.
The brochure states that this hotel 'is a 5* resort located on one of the longest sandy beaches on the eastern coast of Rhodes'. This is disingenuous at best and simply lies at worst. The beach has small sandy patches but is primarily sharp, nasty, painful to walk on pebbles. If I had been told the truth I would have brought the right footwear to cope but I was lied to to consequently every time I brought a sailboat to shore I had to endure excruciating pain (the shoreline is exclusively pebbled).
The swimming pools were absolutely freezing. First week in September after 3 months of Mediterranean sun pounding down on them and if they had been 3 dgrees colder you could have gone ice-skating. We paid extra for our own private pool (Room 8008) and it was unusable. The adult only pool was the worst though. Absolutely everybody was complaining aboutthe water temperature but the MW Staff employed the age old trick when asked why the pool water so cold, with the reply 'Nobody else has complained - it must just be you'. Oh no it isn't!!
Prices for drinks and eating in the smaller restaurants ( ie not the large buffet) were very reasonable and the Pan-Asian restaurant was absolutely first class.
Internet access was advertised as free and available in every room. It certainly was free and it was virtually unusable. Not enough IP addresses were available so whatever device you tried to use simply displayed 'Getting IP Address' until it got bored. WiFi / Internet is a utility in the same way as Water, Electricity, Lights. I wouldn't accept a room without electricity so I don't understand why I should accept a room with intermittent Internet access. Also there is nobody responsible for fixing the problem. Talk to reception about the IP Address Issue and you might as well be talking Urdu.
The biggest disappointment was that there was no flexibility in the groupings of the various age groups of 'Clubs'. There were a number (more than 8) of 13 year olds who did not want to join the '10 - 13 Club' as they didn't want to do '10 year old stuff'. Consequently all the 13 year olds missed out on everything. When asked if they might consider putting together a group of 9x 13 year olds the answer was simply 'NO'. So if you child is at the top end of the age range for a group, expect the group activities to be designed for the lowest age in the group and for your child to miss out.
British Airways flight was great.
Transfer to & from resort was very efficient.
MW Staff were very friendly.
Would I go here again? Answer NO. Reason is ' Freezing Cold Pools & being mislead about the nasty stony beach' are negatives which outweigh all the positives.

Just got back from a brilliant week at Levante beach resort. We're a young couple (early 30s), and had a ball with all the activities! We enjoyed sailing and windsurfing courses, mountain bike rides, aqua aerobics, football, etc etc, during the day, then cocktails and delicious Greek food in the evenings. We've been away with mark warner before (and loved it then too), but this resort stood out for the amazing range and accessibility of the activities, the high standard of the resort in general and the very friendly, professional staff. Everything is superbly organised, and we especially loved the mixture of British and Greek staff. We didn't use it, but the childcare seemed great- lots of very happy kids! Thank you Levante.

Last year, my partner and I spent some time at this new resort. It is nothing like anywhere I have been to before. With the resort being so new, it is almost not worth mentioning how immaculate and well designed the accommodation is.
The restaurant area is extensive with equal outdoor space meaning that you would be hard pushed to not get seated outside if you wanted to be.
Staff were just unbeatable last year during our stay. All the guys on the waterfront were helpful and polite, something I can't say for other places we have stayed in the past. I got wiped out windsurfing on one day and someone was out and hauling me into a boat before I had even had time to think about it. They brought me further into shore and then spent a good 20 minutes chatting with me about where I was finding troubles and giving me a bit of 1-2-1 tuition. Just amazing care spent.
The pools, of which there are many, are stunningly placed and again, being that there are so many it would be a hard push to find one over crowded. All the pool bar facilities again were amazing.
I would quite honestly love to go back if I could ever afford it again, it took us a long time to save for but was absolutely worth it.
Other things I would mention:
The historic ruins within the resort add an unusual twist to the surroundings, I think more could be done with this over time and I would like to see a bit more thought put into presentation and information/education on it and the area.
Take the time to grab a bike or car or whatever and head over to the resort town down the road. They have some great restaurants, a bunch of tack shops and there are also fishing trips/boat trips from the jetties.
The area around Levante, is quite different to what you are isolated from within the resort and well worth exploring.

Just like to add another glowing endorsement for Mark Warner's Lemnos resort. We have just returned after a 2 week holiday, with 2 adults and 2 teenagers sorry to leave. Huge thanks to George, the resort manager, who seemed to know everyone and could be approached by everyone. He was very visible and welcomed on the spot feedback even if it wasn't what he wanted to hear. Good for you, George, we rate you one of the best managers ever. Other seriously good staff were Graham, the handyman. I really hope that Mark Warner know what a treasure this gentleman is - he practically built the entire resort from scratch, and attended to all the odd jobs that no one else wanted to do. His signage and maintenance stamped professionalism over the whole site; even better, he would always try to help out with absolutely anything for a customer. Most people didn't know that he also happens to be an incredible sailor and wind surfer as well, and would help with technical advice on these as well!
The young lady (Liv) running the exercise and fitness classes deserves special mention, I reckon she could teach anyone to do zumba, although I think we would all prefer to watch her. Incredibly talented, her classes were the highlight of the holiday for the dance-loving punters. Others to mention, the homegrown Greek restaurant staff could not have been more good natured and helpful, especially Aggelos (Smiler), Angela (egg chef), Carolyn and Agiota. There were also several chefs who cooked food in front of you - stir fries and honey fritters, which were an absolute treat. We usually like the food at Mark Warner resorts, but the food at Lemnos was exceptional.
Down on the beach, once again, no concerns over safety whatsoever. Dave, the waterfront boss, ran a tight ship with daily briefings and constant vigilance. The mountain biking was enjoyed by everyone that did this, and the tennis was its usual excellent standard - particularly the teaching offered by Tennis Ben (Wylie). He stood on the courts from morning to night teaching children how to hit the ball over the net with more patience than a saint. Well done Ben, we noticed you.
There were some niggles - the internet access was a bit patchy, and slow even when it worked, and I wish they could have locked that lovely grand piano near the bar. All the children were tempted to bash the keys whenever they passed, and this was upsetting for folk sitting around and for those that respect a beautiful instrument. PLEASE lock it, keep the key at reception, and hand it out only to those who do know how to play. A final irritant was the less than professional diving tuition, which raised concerns over safety, but George knows all about this and has probably sorted it out already. There was another George running boat trips - expensive, but our teenagers had a fantastic time each time they want, especially the spag bol cooked by Mrs George. Our kids basically just disappeared for 2 weeks - thanks to the Indies - and both of them had a fabulous time.
That's all - all good; this was our 12th Mark Warner....pretty obvious that the package works for us. We will return next year.

I was worrying about the holiday as I read a couple of negative reviews, just before we travelled, but am very happy to say that our experience was very different to those reports as we had a great time.
The accommodation was lovely, the best I've had in Greece. We were in the "village" area, in a unit comprising a spacious downstairs room with 3 single beds for the kids, bathroom and balcony, and an upstairs double bedroom with en-suite and balcony. It was spacious, very clean, nice bathrooms (a rarity in Greece). There were really good shutters on the balcony doors, so it was a near-perfect black-out, which is also a rarity in my experience. The only negative was that the double was two singles pushed together, which is common enough in hotels but not so good with a wooden frame bed.
The kids had a wonderful time in their clubs, the staff were great. My husband enjoyed the sailing (wind gusty rather than constant, but at least plenty of wind), though did say that the boats were in variable condition. The food was fine and always plenty of it. We enjoyed having the choice of restaurants, can recommend booking in the Italian and Greek places in particular, and the Breeze bar for lunch. When we were there, Mark Warner was the substantial majority of the guests.

I've just returned from a weeks holiday on Lemnos with my wife and 2 children. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the resort. Our rooms were simple but included everything we needed. The staff were very attentive and the childcare for our five year old was excellent. The food and facilities were good. The resort has a nice pool and beach and is ideal for those interested in watersports. Our only complaint, albeit a minor one, was about the Wifi which could only be accessed in the lobby of the hotel. A new system was being installed as we left so we can only hope that this will rectify the problem.
Overall we had a great week away and would recommend it to anyone.

This review is of interest to windsurfers/sailors and those with children.
When we arrived we were slightly surpised at the smaller location compared with San Agostino and Lakitira. This should not be a cause for concern, the rooms and hotel were of a better standard than either of these. The pool is great.
Internet was patchy through the wireless but 3g worked fine.
We had our 6 year old daughter and 1 year old son in for half a day each. The team were fantastic and we have absolutely no complaints. The team were flexible in allowing us to swap classes/timings and also did a great job of settling our toddler for the evening DVD club. There seemed to be a great balance of outdoor and indoor play and the team definitely care about the children they are responsible for.
This is a great bay for windsurfing and sailing. Typically the sea conditions are flat and whilst the predominant wind seemed to be cross off or offshore, this is a horseshoe bay and the waterfront team were quick to pick up on anybody not managing in the conditions.
The wind didnt seem to have any particular pattern, if anything it was typically windier between 9-11 and then dropped by 5pm. They have some big windsurfing kit upto 9.4m and plenty of boards so you can get planing most days, we had a three or four pretty windy days in two weeks, force 5-7 which were fantastic.
If you want to learn to sail or windsurf this is an excellent place to come. If you want flat water blasting with some small chop then again this is a great place.
The waterfront team are fantastic, led by Curly Dave and PC they are a well organised and fun team. The afternoon sunset races and the big race were great fun.
The MW manager of the site George was very visible. Basically he knew what everyone was doing and was really proactive in ensuring his guests were having a great time - which they all were. We will be back.

Really well laid out resort - the beach bar was very chilled and provided an excellent relaxing, shady area - perfect for pm snooze and sunset drinks. Impressed that, even though we were there in the school summer hols, the main pool was in no way crowded. Anyway, the adults only pool was great for a proper swim.
Didn't try water sports, but the beach was very nice - even did some jogging along the sand as you can follow the coast for a while and the breeze is lovely.
Tennis excellent - especially Michael and Hugo who were great fun and very patient and informative coaches.
Yes, would return if wanted the same type of resort-based relaxing holiday with a bit of tennis.
Food not excellent, but just what you'd expect from mass resort catering and certainly always something healthy to choose amongst the stodge.

Had 2 weeks in Lakitira with our 4 year old daughter. Had such a good time we are suffering from holiday blues. We flew with BA from Heathrow and flights and transfers were A1. All the Mark Warner staff were friendly and helpful as were the local hotel staff. The place was spotless from accomadation to whole resort and the watersports were great. The bathroom in our junior suite was a little cramped but this didn't really matter. The food was good on the whole if a little samey after 2 weeks and the kids food needed to be a bit more plain with more veg. You can have a la carte at the helona resort up the road which was really lovely but at extra cost. Our daughter was in mini club which offered great activities and the girls were amazing, special thanks to Kayley, Sophie, Hannah, Jade and Mandie. The early kids meal and evening creche were a godsend, meant we could eat in peace without a tired, grumpy child in tow (our experience from previous holidays). Lily also did the tots tennis course with James and Hugo, who were great and enthused her so much she then had private lessons with James, thanks guys. The viva salon was great so ended up having a few treatments, all the girls in there were lovely (sorry can only remember Helens name to say thanks). My hubby did pilates with Beth who was also great, in fact it would be impossible to name all the staff that are worth a mention. My only very minor criticism was that the evening entertainment in the hotel was shocking (not organised by Mark Warner!). All in all had a fantastic time and looking to book next years holiday through Mark Warner either back at Lakitira or one of the other Greek resorts.

The Helona Beach Resort hotel/Lakitira resort combination was perfect for us. We are a family of 4 with an 18 year old and a 15 year old and all of us are keen sailors, windsurfers and tennis players. We wanted to avoid the noisy baby/toddler scene but also wanted to feel part of the 'Mark Warner' sporty scene. We stayed at the superb Helona Hotel where the accommodation, huge buffets and friendly staff were all amazing but then we just wondered down to Lakitira for all the action. It helped that we were given a room at the Lakitira end of the Helona Resort so less walking when we forgot various items needed for the beach! The 15 year old won't admit this but probably regrets not participating in the Indy Club but still found a friend to hang out with. There was a great selection of kit on the beach and we particularly loved hanging out at the Breeze bar at lunch time and after a hard day on the beach, therefore completely avoiding the kids pool area! I would highly recommend this holiday combination for those with older teens/young adults who appreciate their surroundings and want good testing wind conditions (mostly off shore though). Despite that, I would not recommend this holiday if you want to lose weight - the buffets were just too good!!

Beautiful location, short transfer, flights on time, a good start to any holiday. This was our Xth mark warner but the first to Kos. Would I have come here if someone had told me what it was really like??? Not a cat in hells....
I came with a teenage daughter, the legal age for drinking in Greece is 16, so basically if you look over 12 you' re in with a chance.
The local town, Kardemena, is 18-30 paradise, not a Greek relic to be found, but sleezy bars and clubs abound.
You could try and keep your child in the hotel, but with the majority heading out town each night it is a serious battle. The good side, safety in numbers, and the mark Warner staff, mysteriously invisible in the resort, apparently are there in all the clubs.
The hotel is not exclusively mark Warner, in fact the mark Warner staff were almost invisible, none in the reception, bars or restaurants. Water sports, fitness excellent, and Pilates, bless you Beth, Pilates was fantastic. Did my daughter enjoy it, yes, did I enjoy it, no, will we return, most deffinately not, my blood pressure couldn't take it!

Another fabulous holiday with Mark Warner. We had a great week away and we reckon that it was our favourite resort of all 6 we've been on so far. Location was stunning and we loved the views from the restaurants for all 3 meals.
Food was excellent; fresh, healthy and a BBQ each evening, coupled with free local wine - can't get better than that!
The cycling was an excellent option and really allowed you the opportunity to see the island. Definitely testing - the views form the coast roads were truly stunning and the local town (the capital) was a mere 15 minutes away. Our son, meanwhile enjoyed the 'Juniors Club' and the numerous activities on offer. He particularly enjoyed the evenings entertainment before the 'movie of the day'!
Optional extras include a sunset cruise which is run by George, a local watersports chap (who also provides fishing and speed boat trips at an extremely cheap price) where we saw tuna jumping. You can also do waterskiing or ringos, which was enormous fun at an extra cost to the Mark Warner staff.
In summary - a lovely resort with really friendly, caring staff who cannot do enough for you. We were very sad to leave and vowed to return as we enjoyed every aspect of the week so much.

n front of the hotel is a small road. Traffic is sporadic and in fairness it is probably limited to a moped, lorry or car every couple of minutes. My main concern is to get from the hotel to to the beach you (and the kids clubs) have to cross this road. As we left though, speed humps were fitted to the road to slow the traffic.
To conclude, we are very impressed at this resort. The big bonus is the amazing views from the restaurants and rooms, sunsets and free wine! The local people and their friendliness only improve the Greek experience and this is to date, my favourite MW resort. It's is highly recommended and completely fabulous. Basically it's simple and it's Greek!

Lemnos Village MW Resort
The MW Lemnos Village Resort is situated on the far SW of Limnos Island about two miles South of Myrina. It is situated on the base of some quite steep hills and overlooks a 3/4 bay which can only be described as 'stunning'.
Airport transfer and flights
British Airways flights from Terminal 5 at LHR. Absolutely superb as always and though we had a small slot delay on departure, we made up time and arrived 5 minutes late! Gone are the days (I hope) of airlines who were unable to fulfil their promise to MW.
The transfer from the airport (which is deserted but efficient) is about 25 minutes to the resort. On arrival the traditional waving MW staff are there to greet you and take care of your bags. I would recommend you pop a swimming costume or trunks into your hand luggage as the nature of the sloped resort is that it could take a while for the staff to deliver bags to your room.
No criticism of BA, but one of the guests lost their luggage between T5 and Limnos. Consider sharing stuff in cases as flights are very rare to the island...
Each room has a balcony or terrace - in our case a west facing balcony which had the most beautiful views of the bay. l. As a result, you benefit from the most incredible sunsets with the sun descending behind Mount Athos, some 50 miles away!!
Whilst getting about the accomodation is good for able bodied individuals, it is steep and involves climbing lots of stairs. I believe there other more user friendly rooms, but after two weeks, I am physically fitter from climbing all of the stairs! My room was located at the top of the resort, which definitely had the best views..
Throughout the stay, the lovely, smiley cleaners performed a lovely job of keeping our room tidy and clean.
The resort is MW managed by George of fame within MW, as he used to run San Agostino. We think he is doing admirably with the hours he puts into the resort and he is regularly to be seen.
Water sports are typical MW. This beach is quite small but as always safety is paramount. Sailing, kayaking, SUP and waterskiing are all awesome and beautifully run by the beachfront staff. The sailing area is massive and very well placed within the bay.
I took a funboat out a few times and found the bay to have a decent breeze and to be perfectly safe. The safety boats are here in case of things not going as they should..
Swimming is in a designated area. BE WARNED - remain in the swimming area - next to this area there are Sea Urchins hence is carefully cordoned off..
During our stay one child stood on a Weever fish, so bring rubberised soled shoes.
The resort has three bars. A main bar, which tends to be busy in the evenings. There is also a beach bar and a pool bar which are open 10am to 7pm ish. Prices are €4 for a beer and €2 for soft drinks.
For a change of scene, consider a 10 minute walk north on the beach to local beach bars. Well priced and very nice, we highly recommend them.
Food and wine
Complementary wine is served with starters and main courses at Lunch and Dinner.. Both red and white are served chilled.
We really enjoyed the food. This area of Greece is so unspoilt that themed nights like Indian, Mexican do not exist. What you get is traditional, quality, Greek food.
The quality of meats was overall ok, if not a bit overdone, but I would rate veg and fruit as excellent.
Hours for lunch are 12.30-2.30pm Local time
Hours for Dinner are 7.30-10.00pm Local time.
Dinner has a feel that food is being 'wound down' by about 9pm so don't leave things until too late. The sunset from the restaurant, by the way is just amazing.
The local area
I'm a bit of a resort dweller and didn't really feel the need to leave the hotel too much. Cars are for hire and pedal cycles can be borrowed ( more on that later). This area of island is utterly unspoilt. Even the airport cannot be heard. The people are amazing and are totally pro holiday makers bringing money to their troubled economy. One example of this hospitality is when two guest went for a walk in the local area. They began chatting to a local householder. They were given a couple of cucumbers for free! The next day the householder invited the guests to his house for dinner.. There can't be many areas within Europe where this type of kindness can be found.
The staff who work in the resort are picked locally. Across the board they are charming and helpful. Of note Giota (whom has two kids in a village nearby) in the restaurant took us under her wing and was absolutely wonderful. There is nothing superficial about the staff - they are polite, helpful and exceptionally natural.
Numerous MW staff are also working within the resort. The ratio of staff to guests is truly fantastic.
At this MW resort there is only one main pool and an adjacent small toddler paddling pool. Of course there is also the sea. This is adequate, though the main pool does get noisy at times. MW towels are supplied for bed chairs.
The pool is operated with complete professionalism and personal pride by Lucas and Antastasia. They are ever vigilant and keep the pool immaculate and frequently chemically test for 'nasties' in the water. They both additionally work later in the restaurant too and are hard working and fantastic.
At about 7pm the pool is cordoned off with fencing, a good feature with toddlers about...
Lovely staff, great buildings and well organised. Our daughter was thoroughly looked after enjoyed her two weeks with the kids club.
Charlotte the child care manager, we remember from previous MW trips.. She is doing a great job, supported some of the finest MW staff. Robbie deserves special mention for his kindness and fun loving nature with the kids. His acrobatics and artistic ability left a profound impression on our daughters memories of the resort.
Mountain bikes are supplied by MW. They are of good quality and Chadders from the MW staff does an exceptional job of keeping the bikes in shape. He also offers three types of tour, Easy, Medium and Hard.
Stuart and Max run the four tennis courts within the resort. Two courts are very modern, two are looking a bit dated, but are perfectly useable. I would have liked to have had the ability to be able to book tennis courts the previous day, as the only current way to book a court is to attend first thing in the morning.
Classes for all levels are available at a cost.
The social tennis was attended by my wife and is considered excellent fun. Of note, on the first day you can be honest and rate yourself between 1 (poor) and 8 (seriously Murray standard). Cracking holiday with brilliant Tennis, Sailing and kids club . Hotel is beautiful and the suites overlooking the beach (some rooms in 8000 range) are worth every penny. The catering is fantastic and the local staff were very welcoming and considerate. Kids club activities were brilliant and staff were massively enthusiastic with the kids. Brilliant - well done.
Suggestions for Mark Warner to make the holiday experience exceptional:
Delayed access to room - how best to deal with this:
Some friends had a poor experience with getting access to room. They kept being advised 20-30 mins and this went on for 4 hours.
I would suggest that if the room is likely to be delayed more then an hour - a voucher for drinks and room to change to de-stress the situation would be ideal. Seemed that a lot of people (including me) was caught this week.
Sunlounger surfers who mark their territory by 8am. Need to have a policy about this at the start of the holiday to help deal with this Very German issue..!
I would suggest waterfront lockers to leave towels etc.. to minimise the sunlounger issues and coordination with the land and sea activities to minimise the conflicted with Tea for the kids.
A timetable with all of the activities - will be complicated and messy but will better serve the guests- stick it online as most guests had access to a wifi enabled device. LCD screens in Reception and one restaurant would cover all those who do not have a device.
Additional IP addresses for the Wifi - on departure there was not enough access for all users.
Additional expenses - GET WIRELESS HANDHELD DEVICES to sign up all additional services (food and sports). I had to advise my bill was 200 Euro light as the chitty had not reached the final account ( signed 3 days before departure) and would help all of those parents whose children were signing for food etc to keep a real time check on expenditure. I had to wait 30 mins (plus the queue time) to get this resolved and in the end I paid the extra sailing lessons with cash as I was fed up waiting for the invoice to get changed.
(The gent behind me in the queue had exactly the same issue with the account being under charged!) The honesty of your clients!!!
Sunsail used a charge card system where all users get a card to charge and it gets logged immediately!
WIFI access point needed for the 8000 buildings as an ethernet cable was required in 8116 to get to the internet which does not help Ipad users which do not have an ethernet connection. Also why did the hotel bother with the internet logins which expired the day before departure?
I think that these are minimal changes that would have a massive impact on the experience at the resort and the revenues to Mark Warner.
We had a great time as a first time Mark Warner user. Will look to your winter hols as great feedback from people regarding these holidays. regards Anthony Doran.

This was our first MW holiday and we couldn't be more impressed. Everything exceeded our expectations especially the friendliness of the staff - Evi and Nancy on reception and Manager Sue being especially helpful. Resort is excellent with a wide range of sports facilities. We aren't sailors but tried the introductory sailing along with the tennis, cycling, kayaking, scuba diving and there were plenty more options. Our two teenage boys (17 & 15) took straight away to the 'Indy' clubs which are organised on ages for activities but come together in the evening - our one slight disappointment with our 'family' holiday was that we only saw our sons when they were asleep! Enjoyed the trip to Lindos (by coach though there was an option to sail) and there is a free bus shuttle to the Water Park (cheaper than the organised trip). Rooms, food and hotel service all excellent. Option to try an alternative restaurant in the evening at the on-site 'Taverna' which was more relaxed than the main restaurant with great food and a 'man vs food' element to the volume of food presented! Evening entertainment for adults is a bit limited (but enjoyed the Greek singing/dancing) but that is the only slight negative we can think of. Overall, a fantastic holiday and we just wonder why we haven't tried MW sooner!

Levante is a beautiful resort run by fun lovely people. Our whole family sailed and played tennis daily or just chilled by the pool. Our 16 year old disappeared with his peer group club and had one of the best holidays ever. Our other kids met friends through activities as they just fell short of the 12 year and 14 year old cut offs of their kids club groups( more flexibility please). Josh (tennis manager) was just fantastic with our youngest son and was always jolly. Great place would thoroughly recommend.

Returned on 13 July from a week at Levante Beach with my 19 year old son and cannot recommend it highly enough. This is my fifth or sixth Mark Warner holiday and they never disappoint. They are ideal for lone parents as well as bigger families. The BA charter flight worked extremely well as did transfers. The accommodation is lovely, as is whole resort which is in a beautiful, quiet setting, and ideally located for a day's car hire to Rhodes town and Lindos - or you can use the buses which run regularly from nearby. Sports facilities were excellent as usual, although there are not as many tennis courts as at Lakitira. Variety and standard of food was also excellent, and the new taverna makes a lovely alternative to the main dining room, with views over ancient ruins and the countryside. My son particularly enjoyed the scuba diving and sailing courses he did. I thoroughly recommend the Levante Beach and would definitely return.

If you have multiple very young children (and we have 2.5 years and 9 months) this place is just not set up for them. We were oversold the "junior suite" for our family which was a 20' x 10' room with a third of it behind shutters that was supposed to constitute the boys' sleeping area and it just didn't work at all as when one woke up, the other woke up and we had no full night's sleep. Meal times also don't work as your kids have to eat from 5:15-6pm and with evening childcare not starting until 7:30pm (when most 1-2 year olds are already in bed) it meant my wife and I could never eat dinner together. The mark Warner reps were nice but no info given on anything available other than childcare so it just didn't work for us. I think if our kids were 6+ then this would probably be a good place but if you have little 'uns I don't think it works.

This was our first Mark Warner holiday and it will not be our last. Despite BA managing to loose my bag, George and the crew went out of their way to help me and get my bag back. The MW staff are by a clear mile the best my daughter Felicia and I have experienced and the hotel staff , lead by Dimitirs were also absolutely excellent.
We both felt extremely welcome and looked after and this is a lovely homely resort which reminded me of the Greece I knew nearly 30 years ago.
The food was very good, the sunsets spectacular and the atmosphere warm and inclusive.
Well done George! You and the staff set the standard for other to follow.

Had the most fantastic 2 weeks at Lemnos village. This was the first time we tried kids clubs on holiday and our 3 year old had a blast - they do so many fun things - needless to say we enjoyed our 3 hours each afternoon immensely too! (Have to mention Megan and Charlotte from childcare who are mentioned regularly in our house Tried windsurfing which I have wanted to do for years and it was brilliant - Matt the instructor was so patient and great fun. Also did some classes with Liv the fitness instructor who made everyone feel so welcome, really knows her stuff and made it fun all the way.
The food was great, lots of choice and always fresh. The staff could not do enough for you and were very patient teaching us a few Greek words. Anthoula the manager at meal times does an outstanding job 7 days a week - she is a superstar!
This was out first Mark Warner holiday and I certainly hope the first of many.
Thank you to all the team for making our family holiday so memorable.

We have just returned from a week in Lemnos staying at the Mark Warner resort with our 22 month old daughter. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The flight was 3.5 hours and if there had been an option we might have bought our daughter a seat...wish we'd done that as the flight was totally full and we were a bit crammed. But it wasn't too long so can't complain too much!
The welcome from the staff was lovely, if a little cheesy! They were all stood outside and waved to us as we approached the hotel...lovely for the kids. We were told we could go straight to our rooms and our bags would be brought up to us. This was great as it meant we didn't have to lug it all with a toddler up a big hill...and it is quite a steep hill. There are stairs or there is a way to get up via the ramps but it's a bit of a climb! Bear this in mind as you'll have to take your own bags back down when you leave. It would have been nice to have had them take them down as well!
We paid a bit extra for a bigger room with an extra bed for our daughter as she climbs out of a cot. They did provide a cot aswell although I was very disappointed that it was only a travel cot and not a proper one. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid service kept it that way all week. The bed was comfortable and the aircon was refreshing as it was quite hot!! We thought the room was great actually.
We booked our daughter into the 'Jellyfish' toddler club. Honestly I cannot rate this highly enough. We booked her in for both the morning and afternoon session. As she was under 2 we had to pay for both sessions but if your child is over 2 you get one session included in the price. The staff were completely flexible and were happy for you to drop your child in later than the start time and we didn't use all of the sessions as we wanted some family time. Our childcare provider was Charley and she was fantastic. My daughter loved her. There were only 4 children in her group as they maintain a 4:1 ratio and I was amazed at the activities they did. I thought that as she was so young they would just have her in the creche however they took her on trips to the pool and the beach (they use tiny lifevests for safety). They had lots of activities throughout the day and I was ocassionally able to 'spy' on my daughter and she seemed to be having a whale of a time! I felt really relaxed knowing she was in such good hands.
They have a night time creche also which is equally fantastic. You drop your child off at 7.30 in their pyjamas and they sit them down in a darkened room to sit on beanbags and watch a kids movie. It's a different movie every night and it's set up with a projector so it's like their own little cinema. You can tell them whether you'd like a specific bedtime or whether your happy for them to just go to bed after the movie finishes. My daughter fell asleep in the arms of the staff on more than one night! They seem to really love what their doing! You then come and collect them by 11pm although we tended to pick her up earlier than this. It was really great as it meant we could have our dinner alone and enjoy it without a toddler throwing food everywhere!!
There's also a parents room where there is a microwave, steriliser and milk in the fridge for you to use as and when. They also leant me a potty and a toddler toilet seat as my daughter had a sudden surge in potty training success on the first day and I hadn't got anything with me!
The food was pretty good. There was a good variety at every mealtime and they changed lunch and dinner options every day. Breakfast, lunch and kiddies dinner were in the restaurant but dinner was al fresco which was nice as you could sit outside and watch the sun go down. The view was pretty stunning actually. Very romantic. My only comment about the food is that the meat was pretty much always overcooked. I know they have to be careful but it meant that it was a bit tough...all in all though the food was good. Lots of authentic Greek options but then they had the burger and chips option for the less adventurous. Kids dinner is at 5.30 and then the main dinner is from 7.30. This is great as you can feed the kids early and then pop them in the night creche whilst you enjoy your meal. Oh and wine is included with lunch and dinner which was nice!
There are an overwhelming amount of activities available and I think that Mark Warner should provide a booklet so you don't miss anything. They give you a briefing when you arrive but it's hard to take all the information in. If you want to do sailing then you need to sign up on the first Monday. We didn't realise this and ended up paying for a private lesson. The sailing was pretty amazing though. I'd never done it before and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. My husband did windsurfing and loved it. I did Aqua aerobics and Stretch sessions with Liv who is quite frankly like an energiser bunny! She just had so much energy. She made the sessions fun and refreshing
I also did pilates with a lady called Jasmine although you have to pay extra for these. It's 15euro per session which is, in my view, quite pricey but actually turned out to be worth it as I learnt a lot about the principles of pilates from Jasmine. We also paid to go on boats with a local guy called George. I would recommend a trip out on his boat as it was a lovely experience and his wife provided some lovely food. The snorkelling however wasn't very good as we didn't really see anything. We didn't do any diving so maybe this would have been better. We didn't do tennis or rent any bikes but these are both options we would have taken if we had more than a week out there. I wanted (and needed!) to relax by the pool rather than do any really strenuous exercise!
The pool area was nice although people have a tendancy to 'reserve' loungers with their towels and then go off elsewhere which I find annoying personally! There was a lovely smaller pool which my daughter could touch the bottom of and she enjoyed splashing around in there! The beach was less crowded but lovely also. Extremely close to the hotel so no trekking to the beach which was great. Both the beach and pool have bars which do a variety of drinks and icecreams so was pretty perfect!
The spa was ok but hard to actually book an appointment as the desk isn't manned by anyone. You have to write a message in a book and then someone will write back to you....it's very strange! Massage was good though.
The whole resort is pretty small but didn't seem to be too crowded which was good. We ventured into Mirina a couple of times and a taxi was 7euros each way. We ate in a couple of the restaurants there and the food was really lovely right by the port. Very cheap as well. We loved that we were getting a change of scenery and supporting the local economy too. Would recommend heading down there to see the castle which is pretty impressive.

This was the second MW we have been to. We had a great holiday and the child care was great. We were however really disappointed with the accommodation, we travelled with our two children and had four single beds. I would expect a family resort to provide a double bed. The accommodation was very run down and badly needs to be refurbished. Overall it was a great resort but for the money you pay I would expect nicer accommodation.

Having had a disasterous time with mark warner Corsica last year we said we would not return to a MW holiday, but Lemnos looked like it could offer us what we were looking for so we took a chance and booked it.
Lemonos has restored our faith in Mark Warner !! It is superb !! We were the only couple without children so had our reservations but I cannot praise this holiday enough. The equipment was all new and lots available. The staff were fantastic, nothing to much trouble. Lovely food. We hired a car and went all around this lovely island in a couple of hours, So unspoilt and beautiful . I think the Mark warner holiday makers were the only ones on the island.
The flights were excellent. We will definately be back next year. Thank you to everyone at lemnos village for restoring our faith in you !!

Came back on June 22 from a fabulous 2 weeks. This was our 4th MW holiday in 3 years so we knew sort of what to expect. This was by far the best and I cant recommend it highly enough. Our 4 year old boy was really well looked after (thank you Taylor) and it was great to see Donna the Childcare Manager again who we had bumped into in Kos last year. The evening drop-in centre is a stroke of genius as is feeding the kids separately- (Yes the kids high-tea is a noisy affair, but that's why they do it then! It also makes the peaceful evenings all that more enjoyable and we met some lovely people). I thought the food was good with masses of choice and for a change of scenery, there is the PanAsian for either lunch or Dinner which is also nice. Drinks are not overly expensive and the local waiting staff were lovely. My partner did quite a bit of Tennis with Josh and Sam the instructors and I spent loads of time on the water learning mainly how to capsize. We had a great room down in the 8000's which is near the bottom pool/bar and right by the beach. Thanks also to Gilly, Sue and the rest of the crew for a wonderful break-we'll be back!

Lovely accommodation in ground floor room in main hotel. Quiet and roomy with a terrace leading onto landscaped grounds. Pools were fantastic for kids and adults alike and the beach was small but fine. The spa exceeded expectations and Justine and Helen were fantastic. Transfers were very efficient and speedy, and proximity to flight path wasn't an issue. Two things let it down - the number of non MW guests who are permitted to use MW facilities (meaning limited availability of bikes and having to take aerobics classes with Russian school children), and the food - the breakfast buffet was good but evening meal choices were repetitive at best, overcooked at worst, and unless you got there early you often missed out on the edible stuff as dishes didnt seem to always be replenished. Also the dining room is vast and lacking atmosphere. The Greek Taverna probably offers the quality of food I was expecting (heck, it even served Greek food!!!!) but I resented having to pay extra to eat decent food when we had forked out for a half board holiday. Have travelled with MW before and enjoyed a more 'club' like atmosphere - this was definitely lacking at Lakitira where I'd estimate MW guests probably make up about 30% of the guests - so felt a lot more like a bog standard package holiday. If you can get a good deal, I would recommend it, but pack your own hummus as you're unlikely to find any there!

Just returned from a week at Lemnos Village which exceeded our expectations in every way!!. The rooms were spacious and immaculate, we had 2 adjacent twin rooms with lovely views although we did have to climb several steep stairways to get to them; which might have been a problem with young children. The food was fantastic with plenty of choice ( even for a fussy teenager) and the restaurant staff ( not MW) were so lovely, one night they played with one couples baby to allow them some peace to eat their dinner. The Mark Warner staff were all really helpful and encouraged us to try new activities, including Scuba diving which my teenage son loved. Great flights and transfers, a beautiful unspoilt local town and gorgeous weather; we'll definitely go again as it's the best of the 3 MW holidays we've had so far. Only gripe was the mosquitos in our rooms, I usually take plug in repellents but forgot and suffered the consequences.

We returned from Levante and our first Mark Warner holiday one week ago, and can safely say it was the best activity holiday we've been on. The whole holiday experience was fantastic. Levante is an excellent resort, with superb facilities and equipment for all the activities. And all the staff were amazing, including the BA cabin crew. Our 3 year daughter had a great time in the Kids Club during the day and at night. It was just shame that my husband and I could only squeeze so much into the hours she was in childcare. Fingers crossed, we're already plotting our return.

Arriving in Lemnos was a real delight, the rooms are fresh and well appointed with excellent views across the bay. Comfortable beds, efficient air conditioning and very good housekeeping made what little time we spent there very relaxing. We travelled with 4 teenagers and between us managed to take part in tennis, sailing, windsurfing, biking, waterskiing, kayaking, water polo and beach volley ball, all run by enthusiastic friendly staff.
The food was generally good and the evening restaurant had a particularly scenic view of the sunset.
The manager(George) created a lovely atmosphere in the hotel and the general ambience was perfect. In fact it would be difficult to find fault with any of the staff either local or Mark Warner.
We would all recommend this resort and would happily return for another holiday.

Excellent flight times - arrived and unpacked to have an afternoon on the beach. This is a large resort that offers lots of super facilities. Suites have been recently decorated and are very comfortable. Waterfront had a great selection of watercraft to play in and the changeable winds made for some interesting and challenging sailing conditions. It was wonderful playing on the beachside tennis court (Court 11) with a sea breeze and stunning view. Vicky and Dane at the Diving Centre introduced us to diving in the pool and then arranged a sea diving trip to the sulphur fields - truly amazing. However you can still just put your swim goggles on and swim underwater on the family beach. In the late afternoon you will see a selection of fish to swim with. Did 3 mega Mountain Bike Rides. Thanks to Brad for encouraging me to the top of Yellow Brick Road - awesome views. Congratulation to poolside staff - pool, beach and gardens very clean. Several Great hiking trails from the hotel - one guest had discovered an owl and took people to catch a glimpse of it out hunting at night. Claire did a good range of workouts which she tailored to fit well with weather and individual guests.
Breakfast in the Trattoria was relaxing -although hotel staff did seem inexperienced. Huge buffett choice for dinner but avoid peak times if a vibrant restaurant is not for you.
Very good bus service into Kardamena only 1.80euros pp and taxi back 10 euros.
Lakatira is a lovely hotel/resort -- could have easily done with another week - could still think of lots of other things to do - so will probably return in the future. Fantastic holiday that really was good value for money when I think of all the activities we did.
Please note that smoking in outdoor areas and balconies was permitted in the Lakatira Resort.

The first holiday we've had in a long while where we want to go back! Good to fly BA (crew were rather shocked to have so many children & babies onboard - aircraft unable to uplift water for return flight so no tea or coffee)
Can't fault the hotel staff, they worked hard and were very cheerful. MW staff didn't pester anyone and were there if you needed them.
Food was really good and tasty. Yes it was busy - don't know what they do in peak season. Kids hi tea was busy too - you need to arrive in good time if you need high chairs. Many adults helping themselves to large portions of food, so if you were late, there was a shortage.
Kids club - can't fault it. Evening creche - godsend! Watersports - sorry for breaking the boat! Good to know there's an eye being kept on you.
The hotel's evening entertainment was politely advertised and the entertainment team went around informing what was going on.
Worth taking the bikes out to explore.
Worth trying a trial dive in the pool.
Thank you Mark Warner

Positives – BA flights from LHW, weather, spa, child care, food (though I think for the price lunch should be included). Negatives – hotel is a bit tired, MW staff were pretty invisible, crèche on our first night was total chaos and the staff were totally over run (lots of parents complaining), the main restaurant gets very very busy (and this wasn't even high season), need to invest in lots more highchairs and booster seats! Fantastic week made all the better for the enthusiastic and welcoming staff, I can honestly say I did not walk past a member of staff without a good morning etc. Pools are immaculate, setting is lovely, will be even nicer when all the plants are established. So much to do as with all MW holidays - great bike rides out.
The accommodation is lovely and beautifully clean as is the entire hotel, Sue the hotel manager remembered us from a holiday we took with MW ten years ago which says it all really !! Our room backed onto the car park otherwise it would have been given a 5 not the 4, however, this did mean we got the evening sun and peace and quiet, not the best view but still nice hills - the room was still lovely.
Watersports and waterfront team are great, friendly and so helpful. Husband and son said organised bike rides out were great as was Pete.
My only negative is the expense, at one time MW included waterski within the holiday price as were all meals and wine, now you have to pay extra for lunch within this resort - we were fully aware of this before we left but it is an expensive holiday - well worth it though.
MW staff are a credit to this company - they really do look after you, we would all definitely return to this resort.

Finally! - flights sorted, BA in and out of Heathrow, good times, not middle of the night, they turned up and on time(ish)!
Our 11th time with MW, 6th at Lakitira and we had an even greater time, thanks to Jess without whom I don't think our son Charlie would have done as much in kids club as he did, fantatsic for us, thanks Jess!
Two blots on the landcape, the Saturday we arrived was half term week and the restaurant was very busy and very understaffed! Piles of plates with unfinished food, the core staff we see every year are brilliant, worked their socks off, but couldn't cope. We heard a couple of comments from 1st timers who were not impressed! To be fair it got a lot better very quickly with more staff drafted in, but this should really have been forseen!
Blot 2 - the 2nd Saturday, transfer day, there was no evening child care apart from toddlers. There was no communication this would happen, we turned up to kids club @ 07:30pm with nobody there. We have never known there to be no childcare of an evening, It was a bit of a shock having Charlie eat with us in the Restaurant, well it would have been if Hannah hadn't said Charlie could sit and watch TV with the toddlers. Is this now corporate policy?
The evening toddler club were also inundated, my wife said she has never seen so many children at the evening creche.
But we love it here and hope to be back later in the summner, or if not, same time next year!
If you haven't been on a MW holiday here, give it a go, you'll love it!

Just returned from an excellent week at Lakitira, thanks to everyone from Mark Warner and the hotel for making us feel so welcome. Our accommodation in the Village was excellent, clearly newly refurbished, spacious and in a great location next to the pool, beach, playground and kids club. The resort had everything we wanted and the child care was second to none, special thanks to Charlie, Amanda and Amelia who were officially 'the best thing about the holiday' according to our kids 2 and 5. The evening child care is a revelation, the kids get to go to bed at the club, so they are ready are raring to go again in the morning, it worked a treat. Must also mention the diving, Vicky and Dane looked after us really well, despite us not diving for over 8 years, and arranged for a boat dive that was brilliant...the underwater sulphur bubbles are beautiful and have to be seen to be believed!
We will almost certainly be coming back to Lakitira and will definitely be booking with Mark Warner again.

We stayed here for the last week of the season, having travelled with Mark Warner many many times before. The accomodation is good, but not 5*. The food was a big disappointment as they would often run out of basic items. The food was no better than any of their other resorts, and we have nether encountered them running out of many items of food.
On the whole it was a pleasant stay only spoilt by the food issues, which hopefully will be sorted for 2013.
As is usual to Mark Warner they NEVER RESPOND TO THE CUSTOMER SURVEYS OR COMMENTS, and would do well to acknowledge the comments of their customers.

This was my 1st holiday with MW. We booked this 2 weeks before we went. We wanted somewhere hot and relaxing with watersports. This resort ticked all the boxes and more. The MW staff at Kos airport, through to those in the resort and the watersports team were brilliant, customer service at its best, nothing was too much trouble, they were helpful, explained things fully and offered assistance as required. We had a room in the main hotel which was lovely and cleaned throughly every day, it overlooked the pretty gardens at the front of the property. We were on FB and the choice and quailty of food was excellent at all mealtimes. Our flights were with WOW, and were very good, the only point to be aware off is that the onboard service is expensive, but the flight attendants are very cheerful and helpful. We would/will come here again but not in peak season as we have no children. We will also recommend to family and friends. A great holiday that meet all our expectations and more. Well done MW staff.

Initial impression of the hotel architecture/complex is long, thin and rather "stark" - But this feeling soon fades when you walk down the beautiful long pool running through the centre to the sea. Also given that its only a few months old and shrubs dont grow that fast in such a hot summer & with the gardeners now very busy replanting everywhere - it will be brilliant by May.
The rooms are superb & quiet with almost silent aircon.
Beach Towels are provided and regularly changed.
Yes the Loo seats are a bit small but not a tradegy.
The MW team led by the marvelous Sue are as ever top quality and fun. The Local Staff are brilliant - helpful happy and attentive. Esp Nancy at reception who has answers for everything.
Yes the beach is stoney plus sand - the more they remove - the better it will become. They just keep working their way up like worms. They do need to install another shower for beach swimmers plus changing cabins to make it complete.
Given that we have experienced 2/3* star MW in the past - this is absolutely 5* star - and a brilliant addition to the list.
Rhodes/ Lindos are well worth the trips - we also hired a car to E35 for the day plus E20 fuel and went round the whole beautiful unspoilt southern end
Great holiday - book book book

This was our first Mark Warner holiday and we were quite excited to be going on it. The BA flight was great, staff very helpful and the transfer from the airport to the resort was very well organised. The superior sea view room that we had booked was very spacious, clean and had fantastic views. Plenty of beach towels, bathrobes and normal towels were provided throughout our stay and the air conditioning worked well. The food wasn't too bad and the fresh fish was absolutely delicious. My son is normally a very fussy eater, but he loved the resort food for the entire stay. The local resort and MW staff are all extremely helpful, polite and cheerful. Every one is very nice to the kids and extremely understanding. The child care facility is very well organised. It was a shame that our son just wouldn't settle into it. So we gave up sending him to the creche after trying for a couple of days.
That said, there were a couple of issues that need to be resolved. The tiles all over the resort are extremely slippery, especially if even a little bit of water falls on them. My husband, son and I slipped in different places in the resort. My husband slipped while walking down the steps leading into the beach side pool. He was holding our 18 month old son at the time and thankfully managed to plonk him safely on the side. He bruised his shin very badly though and it's still sore. I slipped in the bathroom as the bath leaked a little in the main bathroom. My son slipped in the other bathroom as the shower cubicle doors didn't shut properly and the water leaked out. My son and I luckily escaped without any injuries.
We didn't even venture into the main pool because of the earlier reviews stating that it was quite slippery.
The beach is definitely not sandy and quite shingly. This was quite a disappointment for me as MW representative I spoke to on the phone while booking the holiday had said it was a sandy beach.
Apart from these two issues, despite the fact that my husband fell ill a couple of days after arrival it was a very hassle free holiday as everything has been designed with families in mind.

This was our second visit to lakitira and I think it was better this year.
The first year we stayed in the suites and this year a fab house in the village, very handy for kids club.
The kids club staff are the best!!
We have 3 kids,8,6,3 years all did full day kids clubs and loved it.
Our middle child has down syndrome and he has had a 1:1 with a MW person when ever he was in club.
The same person every day for the 2 weeks even when he went to film nights every night.
I cannot fault them.
Sports excellent from adult and child points of view.
Would reccommend to anyone with kids!

Excellent holiday, exceeded our expectations (never been on a similar holiday before). Travelled with an 8 month old and 3 year old, very easy as everything there - highchairs, travel cots, early tea for them, pureed foods, kitchen with steriliser, microwaves and sink to wash bottles. We opted for afternoon childcare which meant we were able to relax for a few hours on the lovely beach. Evening childcare worked well too. Food plentiful and of very high standard. Staff (local and MW) were all very friendly. Will definitely return again.

We travelled as a family in August 2012 and had a great time. The resort is clean, spacious and very friendly. There were always sun beds, room to sit and relax. We stayed full board and there is a good selection of food at all meals. The pool restaurant does burgers and sandwiches if you want to self cater for lunch. The drinks bill was expensive as we are not big drinkers but there were a few cheeky cocktails on the tab. Our children only did a few activities but the clubs were brilliant and the staff fantastic. I was impressed with the teenager clubs especially. Beware the sea is choppy and deep and the beach is sand and pebbles. The flight was good and all food and drinks are included. Make sure you book a children's meal. Also take entertainment for the children as there is no tv, music or headphone facilities on the plane. I wish we had known this before the flight as we had to juggle one DVD player between two children sitting separately. The hotel advertises sky but the tv channels are limited to news/business so again if you want to use the room for out of sun time do download a few films. There is no DVD player in room although you could take a network cable to link up to the tv. We used the wifi in the lobby to download a few films. We had a beach view room and couldn't get wifi to work. One week is fine. However for two you should get a car as there isn't much close by. Also there is a neighbour twin hotel you can use the children's fun splash pool and no one used it which is such a shame as it was great as there was a slide and bucket splash zone. It's just by the pool restaurant. The Greek ruins are a fabulous extra! These are handy hints really as the holiday was great and I would recommend for a good relaxing family break.

Great resort, great staff, great sailing conditions (wind got up to 26 knots). Children (age 12 and 15) had a great time in the kids' clubs. Flight out with Air Berlin (186 seats) delayed by hour and a half, but plane was comfortable and flight was fine. Weren't told that we would get a sandwich snack on the plane and so could have avoided buying sandwiches at Gatwick.
Flight back with Small Planet was initially at 21:15, which suited us, but a few days before travelling this was put forward to 00:00, and this did not suit us. Plane was then delayed by half hour and, for some reason, took half an hour longer than the outbound flight. Plane was smaller (156 seats). Seats were small and cramped, and headrests were too low to support head properly when trying to sleep. Not impressed by cabin staff, either. I would echo the views of others - great resort but spoilt by the flight back. Might look at other tour operators next year. Come on Mark Warner - sort out the flights!!

This was our first Mark Warner and it lived up to all my expectations. The flight times we booked were not great but with a week to go we were amended to Air Berlin - excellent flights and times were very good in both directions. I can't praise the hotel staff enough - both MW and local. The drinks bill for the week was not as scary as I thought it might be and snacks at lunchtime (if needed) were good quality and cheap. Large selection of food to choose from; breakfasts were the highlight with lovely fresh fruit as well as everything else you could think of. The fitness classes were fun; social tennis was well organised. The sun shone the whole time but there was plenty of shade. I hope to go back next year.

1st MW Holiday, and not the last I hope.....IF flight issue can be remedied?.......Apart from the change to flight schedule 3 days prior to return, and as other reviewers have commented on the "adhoc" flight arrangements - that was the only negative, but a big one at that. You don't need flying through the night when your original flight times were getting you home before 1am...as it was 7am home meant the whole family were exhausted from the journey home. To coin a phrase, "you get what you pay for"? But do you? You pay good money to enjoy your holiday with a company of Mark Warner's reputation, only to have it ruined by inevitable flight problems. It may only be a small piece of the jigsaw, but it can't be overlooked as it plays a significant part in what you recall of the holiday.... when you factor both inbound and outbound travel times amount to 9 hours in total, check in times (3 to 4 hours) + travelling to/from airport so it really does matter to have the start and end of your holiday go smoothly and to expectations, especially with children in tow. Inbound, you are only having to kill time at Kos airport for an hour, once checked in but should it be delayed - it would be carnage.
Our kids aged 4 & 11 loved it and by morning of day 3 were asking "when are we coming back here Dad"...no pressure then. We would look at other destinations that leave Heathrow for sure.
Resort is fabulous, never left it to go into Town, as there was no need, food was excellent with very wide choice - exceeded expectations of Buffet style dinner. Take more sun cream than you need as the resort shop is 24 Euro's (cheapest option) for a 300ml bottle of Kids Factor 50 Sunscreen. More than a little excessive?
MW staff - all excellent.
Hotel staff: Bar staff could do with a little staff training on making a G&T which doesn't contain flat Tonic, and in manners expected of front of house staff i.e. asking "can I help you" (followed by them continuing their staff chat for 5 minutes) before pouring the beer you are thirsty for.
If the flight problems could be corrected and assured I would book again without hesitation, but as Mark Warner are sub contracting out flight operator I guess it will always be in the hands of the 3rd party/flight operator as to what transpires.

the flight and whole travel arrangements where amazing, with no problems at all. As soon as we arrived at the hotel our bags where in our AMAZING room which was very modern and clean. There where a few meetings about child care and (after meeting everyone) you make friends within the first day. The pools are fantastic, each with a different purpose, and there was always plenty of sun loungers for everyone. The food was really nice and there was always something different to eat everyday. The staff are friendly and always on hand. Indie club was fantastic for the teenagers and there was never a dull moment. The highlight of my trip was the volley ball at 3pm everyday, within a few days we had a team and it was VERY fun

We travelled to Levante Beach at the beginning of July and I have to say, it was one of the best holiday experiences we've had.
We relaxed, made friends and generally enjoyed a perfect break. As a young couple without kids, me and my girlfriend were pleased to find that while the resort is family friendly, there was also plenty to keep us entertained. We enjoyed the water sports and yoga classes and we especially enjoyed the cocktails over (our delicious) dinner!
The resort is quiet, but without being boring and is a perfect getaway. We would highly recommend the place and want to thank Sue, Gilly and the gang for making us feel so welcome. We will be back!

Mark Warner - Levante Beach, Rhodes, Greece
June - July 2012
Perhaps it's a sign of the times. Having been previous Mark Warner guests (San Agostino, Paleros and Lakitira), we were used to distinctive red and white MW bag tags, tickets and lots of other MW paraphernalia. None on this occasion, except an e-ticket and letter of confirmation, which was completely perfect and no doubt reduced MW's overheads. This all worked efficiently too.
Flight - This was a charter flight operated by BA, departing from the beautiful Terminal Five at Heathrow. The experience of departing on time was a new one (based on previously travelling with Excel, Viking, Tor and other Mark Warner flight operations during the past 5 years!). This BA flight was the perfect flight, really charming staff, great food and we arrived 30 minutes EARLY at Rhodes Airport. I have to say the BA cabin crew were just completely fabulous with kids and adults alike. MW have clearly listened to customers. Humans tend to remember the beginning and end of a holiday! Typically, our last (2011) experience of 8 hour delays (including a fire alarm evacuation!) at sunny London Gatwick no doubt has a potential huge impact on MW guests returning the following year. If MW listens, the BA charter concept is compelling and just brilliant. MW - Bring it in for all the resorts and your returning guests will increase, I promise!
Transfer - Despite the early arrival at Phodes, Mark Warner staff were ready and waiting with four coaches for transfer to Levante Beach. Transfer time was about 25 minutes. Despite being located close to the airport, throughout the stay there was no sound of either light or commercial aircraft. Seat belts are fitted on the air conditioned coaches, I noted a few defective belts.
We were allocated a small room on the floor above reception and in all honesty couldn't have asked for too much more, as we had only booked a standard room (2 adults, 1 child). The room had views at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the tennis courts and a small mountain, but facing away from the sea....we were quite disappointed. However, there are much worse rooms we spotted - on the ground floor, also at the back, but looking directly onto the wall of the tennis centre and next to a very noisy generator!!! Hopefully MW guests don't get landed with those....some of the rooms fall into the room numbers 1000's and 2000's.
There didn't appear to be a dedicated MW Reception desk, as reception is shared by all the operators at Levante Beach. Departure information is positioned to the right of reception on the wall. The Greek reception staff are great English speakers and were always very helpful. The hotel operations and general running is overseen by a Greek chap who bears a huge similarity to Bernie Ecclestone! The MW resort manager is also always contactable.
CAUTION RE THE MAIN POOL - As everyone does, within a few minutes of arrival, we went to explore the resort. Our daughter, put a foot in the beautiful, huge main pool's shallow end and instantly slipped, fully clothed into the pool! The MW resort manager, Sue, happened to watch this event. Sue is very congenial, helpful and delightful. She chatted for a while and we were informed that the resort was not at full capacity but was going very well, (based on feedback from other guests). Sue made an admission that the pool requires a repair due to slippy sides. The plan is to drain the pool in the winter, I just hope that no one becomes injured from a slip or slide into the pool. Upon examination the pool isn't suffering from algae etc - it's just some areas of slippery tiles.. For those with infants another word of caution - the pools have no fenced containment, so you need to keep a strict eye on non-swimming toddlers who may wander off - lots of ground floor rooms open directly out onto pools... This of course is different to Lakitira and San Agostino, where these areas are rigorously fenced and gated off. This is probably due to hotel policy, rather than MW.
We have encountered management in previous MW stays, but Sue was just great when it came to dealing with people on an approachable and professional basis. We were very, very impressed, as she is clearly experienced at dealing with issues (and was good at remaining in touch throughout the entire stay). Sue also arranged for an alternative room.
We were lucky, and probably only as there were still vacancies, to be given a new room (classed as a deluxe suite) near the centre of the resort, which was a huge improvement. It's difficult to know whether to choose ground floor and patio, or first floor and balcony. We had opted for the latter. Everything was brand new and In fact it was so new, that we were missing a handle on our interconnecting door, which really didn't matter. We had a stunning view of the adult pool, Crocodile Rock and an interrupted view of the sea. Be advised, there are however, a number of rooms in the 'nice' blocks beginning with no. 7 which face out onto the side exterior of the resort, with a potential view of a long wooden fence!
Each room has a larger than iPad compatible size safety box which is electronic so no deposit is required, previously hotels have required deposits for a key at reception, so this cuts down on a bit of hassle.. We had two flat screen LCD televisions, of which Sky and BBC news updates and other English channels could be viewed. Wi-fi is not available in most rooms, however there are a number of wi-fi 'hotspots' around the resort which can be 'tapped' into, at no additional cost. We were also supplied with plush white dressing gowns. Shampoo, shower gel and body lotion was also provided - but bring conditioner!
Work in progress - The resort is still undergoing work in some areas. Power cuts and the occasional lack of bath water are not a sign of Greek austerity measures! The bushes and grass turf have a bit of growing to do! There are no diggers, cranes or really anything which negatively affects the quality of customer satisfaction. Levante Beach is the most northerly of a current development of three hotels, which I believe are all operated by the same owner, Aqua Sol Hotel Group. As things stand, if the four pools at Levante Beach aren't enough, you are free to venture to the other hotels to use their pools. Our suspicion is that ongoing building work has come to a halt next door, until winter time, when it will restart without interfering with guests lifestyle.
The pools - there are four outside pools, which include an adults only (over 18's) pool (for water polo and staff lifeguard training too), the main pool (slippery edges), a kiddies paddling pool and an 'infinity style' beach pool, with stunning views of the coast and surrounding mountains. This pool also has a beach style bar and has an area with sofas and chairs overlooking the beach on a wooden decking. One improvement would be to place 'tea lights' on each table, to improve the general ambience, when t

This was our 3rd visit to Lakitira, and as always the hotel lived up to our expectations. The ground floor junior suites are perfect for young children as you get more inside space and there are grassed areas outside for the kids to have a good run around. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. The kids clubs both daytime and evening creche are fantastic. Great range of fitness activities. The beach staff were much more helpful this year, ensuring someone always got kit out for you, saving you to have to hoard it all across the very hot sand! Good choice of eating options although the food at the Taverna was very similar to the main restaurant but with a 12 euro supplement. Shame that Saturdays are the MW staffs day off..it meant that we had one full day of our holiday each week where we had no activities. The local town is a 10 minute (10euro) taxi ride away but is really not worth the effort. The only thing that always lets our holiday down is the appalling flight companies always used by MW. This year we had our flights changed by over 11 hours four days before departure and then a 12 hour delay when we got to Gatwick. During the 12 hours we were only given 1 meal and 1 drink. So perfect resort, awful awful flights.

We are just back from a week in lakitira. This was our second time to visit this resort. My only disappointments with the holiday were 1) the resort practically closes on the last day due to staff shortages! There is no childcare, no watersports activities, nothing is open! This was a six day holiday sold to us as a seven day holiday unfortunately. Secondly I was very disappointed with the childcare in minis this year. Last year it was surberb however I felt the girls this year there was a lack of energy and enthusiasm. There were a lot more tears from all the kids each morning. My daughter who is 4 was ok but her experience was nothing special this year.

This was our first Mark Warner holiday, and overall we were very happy and will book with them again next summer. Kids club for our 4 yr old was superb. Staff lovely. Great formula: early tea for the kids at 530 then evening film club at 730 followed by sleep till 11. Makes such a difference...allows you an adult evening and a chance to relax.
We went for as much sport as possible: and were very happy with facilities and great coaches, notably Ben, George and the manager Josh at the tennis...a quiet week for them, but made us all welcome and enthused. Sailing is well-run and stocked with kit.
Travel is painless - thanks to times of flights, it being BA, and short transit to hotel.
Hotel is sparklingly new - no teething problems. Of course, it will become prettier once plants grow...but you know it will be a little sparse when booking...so don't complain.
Food is 4-low-end-5-Star though - good variety, but should have more freshly cooked on grill - not sitting on trays all night.
Needs a beach taverna...as the pool bar is fine, but is not on beach.
Asian restaurant is a dead space by day and most nights - need to rethink that.
Check the map of hotel, you'll see the shape is long and thin...so quite a walk from one end to other (especially with a heavy, sleeping toddler on your shoulder!).
Rooms - avoid right-hand side of hotel, as the view is of half-built hotel next door, which is where they put us but we asked to change and they moved us down opposite pool bar - fantastic, uninterrupted sea view. Whereas in the hotel, and may other rooms, you might be closer to the dining room, but your view is of other buildings.
Special thanks to Rhian, a lifeguard, who gave our daughter swimming lessons in her spare time.

Having been on MW holidays for years, I expected big things from this new resort. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations! The rooms and facilities were amazing, however, the resort was missing the 'MW factor'. Normally there is a real buzz around the resort, I think this may have been lacking at Levante due to the fact that this huge resort was fairly empty. The wind conditions were fairly poor for intermediate to advanced sailors. Will probably head back to one of the 'classic' resorts (San Ag etc) in future.

As we were travelling to a Mark Warner resort as a young couple we had reservations beforehand due to the fact it is generally thought of as being a family orientated holiday company. However, we had an amazing time and even decided to extend for another week. Sue the manager was very acommodating and sorted everything out for us. The pool facilities were diverse and we made full use of the adult pool. The tennis was great and the tennis staff were very helpful and friendly.
The food in the main restaurant was more varied than we first expected with plenty of choice and variety, however it became relatively boring after two weeks. We also ate at the Asian restaurant a couple of times which was a welcome change and the food was very good and well worth the extra money.
Our room was clean and spacious and the bathroom very nice. The small town of Kolimbia is not far away and it has a few bars and shops which we took advantage of.
Rhodes town is also well worth a visit along with Lindos if you have the time.
Overall the holiday was brilliant with staff, accomodation and facilities to match and definitelty worth a visit as a young couple.

Levante beach resort is cracking it has something for everyone.
Arrived at T5 early morning for a 0750 depart with BA. We boarded promptly but unfortunately there was a tech problem with the plane which meant an aircraft change. Thank goodness it was not a tin pot charter company BA were great and we only got delayed by an hour and a half.
Transfer quick and MW staff very efficient bags dropped in room.
We had a suite as we had our little guy with us. Room was lovely cool good quality towels and bedding. Nice shampoo. Double sink, good powerful shower and standard bath. N.B. shower floor very slippery when wet (just be careful)
Draw back throughout the whole place wrong sized loo seats.
Rooms always serviced to a high standard.
Beach towels provided.
All pools are clean and just the baby pool and main pool have lifeguards.
Pool closest to beach lacks enough sun beds.
Pool bar staffed by both Greek and MW staff great atmosphere bar prices spot on with music that is not intrusive.
Beach nice with plenty of beds. Caution sand is very hot so watch out if you take little ones and they start complaining could be the reason.
Sailing kit - well it is brand new
Windsurfing kit - great choice
There is a BIG problem with the sailing area as it is just to small for the fast boats RS500 Cats and windsurfing. I believe that this is being addressed but be prepared if you are an experience sailor or windsurfer as this on a windy day is a real pain.
When the wind blows offshore it is hard work getting back to the beach as the
there is a very narrow channel between a swimming area and power boat lane coupled with gusting wind due to the wind shadow of buildings on the shore.
Wind over my two weeks varied massively from nothing in week one to F5 for three days in week two.
Watersports staff are great would however be nice if they interacted with the guests in the evening. But might be a MW thing.
Breakfast- Really good choice Nb outside cook station offers waffles and pancakes
Lunch - slightly smaller selection then supper.
Kids tea - Good selection with soft drinks
Supper - Great choice NB different food outside then inside spit roasts roasted veal carved to order. Plus a variety of other things at the various cooking stations.
Main pool bar/ lunchtime bite- Good pizza good burgers at a fair price
Mini market- offers good selection of stuff and 6 pack of water €3.50 1.5L
Kids club- Really good run well
Kids evening / Video Club - This really is a great service offered by MW
Spa - Very good try the express service reasonable price NB need to pay cash or card can't charge room.
lobby Bar - slow and not very personable.
Wifi. Really really poor - iPads and iPhones don't work very well due bandwidth but a laptop or mac book works well. If you want to work that is
Mountain biking - good bikes and good guide but take water.
All in all great resort great team would I go again Yes please.
Finally check in at Rhodes airport is a pain in the a#%#
Happy days enjoy if you are going

Stayed at Helona Hotel which was truely excellent including the main restaurant buffet food. A few useful facts :-
1) Dress code requires long trousers in evening albeit that scruffy jeans appeard to be acceptable! (Only took shorts which they had no option but to accept.)
2) Watersports only available for six days out of seven due to staff shortage and this was despite being assured by Mark Warner before booking that this historic issue had been resolved.
3) Return flight is very late and Strategic Air flights are likely to be delayed (borrowed planes used for both outbound and return flights). Plus Kos airport cannot cope with delays.
Nevertheless an excellent holiday so thank you Mark Warner, and would definitely go back.

Just returned from a great week at Levante with our 1 and 3 year old. The pictures really do it justice. It was serene and spotless.
Our first trip with MW so we were curious. The sports facilities are fantastic. We tried mountain biking and water sports which were all delivered with both enthusiasm and knowledge.
I scored the food averagely. There is alot of it, it is cooked well and the kids tea is perfect. I think we would have preferred less dishes, cooked impeccably.
My only gripe/tip would be about the loungers at the beach pool. People get there pre breakfast to do the towel on a lounger thing. Which means if you don't get there pre 9.30 you don't stand a chance of getting one. We were fine because our kids were in the 9am club so we made it down there in time.
We will definitely be trying another MW in the near future.

My first time with Mark Warner for a long time and I was totally impressed with Levante in its first week of opening - it was not without its teething problems understandably but the staff and especially the resort manager were all trying their very best to ensure guests had great time and I believe they succeeded. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bedding soft! Water sports kit is all brand new and the pools well spaced out. Food was varied and tastey. I'd definitely go back and have already recommended friends. Enjoy if you go!

I visited Levante Beach with a friend on its opening week. I was impressed with the new hotel and facilities it offered, considering it was its first week of operation all the staff and the manager were up to speed and only happy to help.
I was very pleased to see that the waterfront was up and running with brand new kit. I was literally the first person to take out one of the Cats.
Great selection of food throughout the day, we went for the full board option and were not disappointed. We were thrilled with our room, which was one of the sea facing suites overlooking the pool with a balcony and two bathrooms.

Our first holiday abroad with our oldest daughter we had a great time here in a refurbished room. The childcare was excellent and allowed us to have a really relaxing holiday. We loved it.
