From the moment you arrive at the airport, our ski hosts are on
hand to help. They will accompany you on the transfer from
the airport to resort, answering any ski questions you might
have. Thereafter, they'll guide you on the slopes finding the
best snow conditions, the shortest lift queues and the best lunch
stops - with a table reserved in advance.
Ski hosting is available 5 days of the week. There
are two ski hosting groups for you to join, each split
according to level of ability and speed. You can join
the group for leisurely or intermediate to advanced
skiers for half of the day or the whole day, or switch groups
whenever you wish. It's up to you.
Ski hosting groups meet after breakfast at 9am and all
groups stop for lunch at the same restaurant, giving you the chance
to catch up with friends, family and fellow guests. Choose to
continue in the afternoon with the group or take time out to do
your own thing. At the end of the day our hosts will
accompany you back to the hotel for a well deserved cup of tea.
Our hosts are advanced skiers and know the resort
intimately, but they are not instructors or accredited mountain
guides. If you are a beginner the we can assist you in
arranging lessons with the local ski school.
For those looking to ski off-piste, we recommend booking
a day with Gianni Carbone, a qualified mountain guide with
many years experiece. In addition to off-piste skiing, Gianni
can arrange ski mountaineering , ice climbing and heli-skiing.
Intermediate skiers and more advanced can enjoy a variety of
off-piste terrain, including the famous Vallée Blance from
Courmayeur into the Chamonix Valley. The route starts at
Punta Helbronner, followed by a scenic and leisurely 4-5 hour
descent before the bus ride back to Italy. Alternatively you
can explore the wide slopes, high fir woods and powdery snow of Val
Veny or discover the Toula Glacier.
Gianni visits the chalethotel Cristallo at the start of your
holiday to discuss his services and any questions that you might
have.
Please note: Ski hosting only takes
place in the local Courmayeur area and one day in La Thuile on a
Wednesday. Notice that the Mont Blanc pass does NOT cover La
Thuile, so if guests wish to ski there they must purchase the local
pass.
