Alpe d'Huez

France France

One of the largest ski areas in France

Dominated by the awesome 3,330m summit of Le Pic Blanc, Alpe d'Huez is a popular and picturesque resort. A firm favourite with both skiers and snowboarders, this resort has something for everyone.

Relaxed and intimate

Although this is a huge area for skiing, Alpe d'Huez itself is quite small. It's linked to four other villages, so has a unique community feel all of its own.

Varied, scenic runs

Beginners are in their element on the gentle green runs near to the resort. The more advanced can climb 2,700m on the gondola and explore a tremendous variety of secluded pistes near to the villages of Montfrais and Vaujany.

Pure paradise for the adventurous

Reached by cable car, La Sarenne is the longest black run in Europe. It's both exhilarating and exciting. Off-piste, the ridge that separates Oz from Alpe d'Huez is a sensational steep powder field.

Sport, culture and fine dining

Alpe d'Huez has it all. Your Visalp ski pass provides access to the Palais des Sport. With an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, fitness classes and night time toboganning, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to sports activities. The church of Notre de Dame des Neiges is close by and, there are bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.
