The hotel itself is tired and tatty around the edges, however, the rooms were equiped with a large warm radiator, as much hot water as you required. The food was of the highest standard and I was delighted that chips didn't feature on the menu all week! The soups were fresh and home made, along with the cakes served in the afternoon. The wine was plentiful. The staff at this hotel could not do enough to help.
The resort itself was brilliant. This hotel allowed you to go straight onto the nursery slopes - great if your a beginner! These lifts didn't require a pass. There are buses running every 15 minutes enabling you to access all areas of the resort easily.
The wellness centre at the swimming pool is well worth a visit, especially after a long day on the slopes.
The only downside on the resort is that there is no where to exchange cash in Tignes - the nearest place is the next resort and if you miss the early buses, you're on a tight schedule to get back on the bus.

A typical Mark Warner hotel, in a nice location but rather simple.
Only one plug in our room and not a single chair (even when we asked for one)
Restaurant is typical Mark Warner where you have to share tables but people tend to be nice.
Warning Ski rental shop is two bus stops away and wifi only works in the reception and then blocks popular websites.

We were a party of six and this was the fifth consecutive year we have been skiing as a group with Mark Warner. I could not fault the ski area, it is world class, and the location of the chalet is excellent with virtual ski in and ski out. However that is where the positives finish. The hotel is very basic but we knew that before we went. There is no excuse for unfriendly staff and the lack of cleaning was unacceptable. Our room was not cleaned throughout the week and we had to ask three times for our towels to be changed midweek. The communal areas were dirty throughout the week with tables and carpet continually covered in cake crumbs and tea stains. The choice of food was good and the food was of a good standard, however when it was busy the evening meals were often cold. Breakfast was good with omelettes, poached eggs and porridge all being provided in addition to the buffet style. The staff had a poor attitude and amongst some there was definitely an element of couldn't care less. Some staff would not even speak to you and that costs nothing and they are employed in the hospitality industry! The manageress seemed to be continually in the bar at Scotty's or outside with all the smokers. Two members of staff who did buck the trend were James the restaurant manager and Charlotte who seemed a very personable addition to the team, but quite frankly there wasn't much competition. In defence of the team they did deal with the theft of skis on the first night well, organising for a mass visit to the police station. Overall a very underwhelming experience with Mark Warner. The holiday was superb but this was down to the huge ski area and stunning beauty of the Alps rather than the holiday experience provided by the Mark Warner team in Hauts de Toviere!

This is probably the seventh time we have used Mark Warner and the fourth time in Hauts de Toviere. The other times we stayed in the Aiguille Percee (sorry about missing out the accents).
While the Hauts de Toviere itself can perhaps be described as a little tired, this is most certainly not the case for the staff and the food, both of which were simply excellent. With a good cooked breakfast, delicious afternoon tea, beautifully presented and well-cooked dinner with a choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts, combined with very drinkable wine, all served by very accommodating and pleasant staff, it is not possible to give less than five stars. Well done, Mark Warner!
Our south-facing room was warm and comfortable, with a good view of the mountains, enough storage space and a good bathroom with plenty of hot water.
Apart from their complex invoicing system and that they charge for WiFi, we thoroughly recommend Mark Warner and the Haut de Toviere. The Aiguille Percee, which has just had a multi-million euro face lift and extension, costs more than the Hauts de Toviere. If you want to go 'posh' choose the Aiguille Percee, Either way, you'll get great service and food.

Second time to Hauts de Toviere - last time 6 years ago. Accommodation is fine, maybe we had a better room than most, I don't know, but it was plenty big enough and clean, warm, plenty of storage and plenty of hot water etc.
Food was the usual very high standard at Mark Warner, plenty of wine and the staff were very good. Shame there was no hosting, but that is no fault of Mark Warner.
Have now stayed in several MW chalets and this was no better or worse than most. Boot room could be a bit bigger, but you put your boots on/off in the reception and it's then only a 20m walk to where you can ski to the lift.
The buses and free and regular if you want to go anywhere else and included in your 6 day lift pass is access to the great pool/leisure centre in town - well worth a visit.
All in all, Tignes is a great spot for access to the whole Espace Killy. Can't say whether Hauts de Toviere is better or worse than the Aiguille Percee, we haven't been there, but would have no issue in coming back.

Mark Warner staff were great from arrival at Grenoble to our departure. Free snack on plane was very nice and flying BA was great. Hauts de Tauvier staff were very friendly and helpful all week. Our kids loved kids club. Food at Hauts de Tovier is excellent especially soup and cakes in the afternoon. Even the wine was very drinkable which is not our experience in competitors ski chalets. Chalet is very tired though and needs a refresh. Social area next to bar is too small for the size of the chalet. Boot room is awful and the broken steps down from boot room to the street are lethal. Tignes le Lavachet is not a good location for families. All the ski schools start in Le Lac or Val Claret and its a pain to have to get a bus there by 9am every day. Route from Chalet to the bus stop was sheet ice - not nice when carrying skis and wearing ski boots. Also was a pain to have to get a bus to the ski hire shop on arrival when you are tired. It was very disappointing that ski hosting was cancelled early in the week due to French legal action on another ski operator (This could have been anticipated as Crystal had to cancel theirs last year due to same reason) We had a good holiday because the weather and food was so great but we would never return to Hauts de Tovier because of the standard and location of the Chalet.

Just returned from a week at the Chalet Hotel Hauts de Toviere. The accomodation was ok if unspectacular, but the staff were magnificent and a credit to Mark Warner. I made use of the Ski Hosting service every day and Jess and Tim, the Hosts, were fantastic. The childcare was also great and nothing was too much trouble for the any of the team. All in all, I would highly recommend a holiday here, the hotel is in a great location - and the experience was helped by a heap of fresh snow to enjoy every day! Finally, would also mention that the other guests helped make the holiday so enjoyable. I travelled with my Son and everyone was very friendly and easy going - guess that aspect is the luck of the draw, but it was appreciated anyway.

First time we had done a Mark Warner holiday and was very impressed.
The staff were all great: astonishingly friendly & helpful; the food was lovely; and we were surprised how pleasant it was to be in with other people & to make new friends & ski-buddies.
Will do one again

A holiday made by the staff of the Hauts de Toviere. Fantastic food and a wonderful resort, where live bands and a good night were never hard to find. Although the room was basic, it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was well situated, with good access to a number of lifts.
