Service rating : Chalet hotel staff were fantastic (other than some cold food one evening). The MW customer service team were polite on the phone, however, they failed to justify the "exchange rate variation" charge they imposed on us (as with everyone else). Specifically, they were unable to provide a breakdown of the exchange rate fluctuation that led to the 7.5% increase, nor were they able to demonstrate how they absorbed the 2% they are mandated to.
My only conclusion from this is that MW are in financial bother and are alienating their customer base to save themselves from short term insolvency. The 2018 ski season may not be so rosy for them.
Product : Hotel a little tired and in need of revamp, hot water doesn't work in the far end of the hotel (rooms x14), but good layout and functional hotel. Great position for ski in/out (if there is enough snow), but 10 minute walk from the main town area

Service rating : The staff generally work hard & endeavour to be helpful & effective - they are young & sometimes they need direction & leadership & that was not always evident last week. In general, more attention to detail is required - premises, food, service etc. Leadership/management needs to be stronger & more visible.
Product : Drinks slightly overpriced. Cocktails of poor quality.

Service rating : We have been with MW four times and this year was definitely the least favourable experience. Childcare and service for them and relationship with ESF is still good but the rest of the hotel services were so much poorer then before. Budget cuts through out though with choices and options and available, food was generally good but a lack of wine choices as before and all waitresses were clearly just agency staff with no experience or training at good engaging customer service, lead by a very young inexperienced hotel manager. The whome thing felt a process and not customer process lead. We paid so much more this year and got so much less, even the heating was off! To top it off We did not appreciate having to pay for your mistake in not managing your exchange rate exposure properly, surcharge, even if in the t and c's this is not how you treat customers who pay in full. We were met by a women as soon as we arrived at the hotel demanding payment like a debt collector, we had already paid. This set a very negative tone for the rest of our holiday. I am afraid we will not use MW again which I am sad about, it's just all getting a bit too shabby, sorry.
Product : We have been with mark Warner four times now and sadly this holiday was the most disapointing, probably the tone was set by the extra cost after we paid in full when we booked. The staff were not as engaging, they acted as agency staff and lead by a very inexperienced manager, they were all just kids. There was evidence of serious cost savings so it felt like we were not valued customers at all. Appreciate this hotel is categorised as the cheapest one but it really is very tired and shabby. We like the formulae and model MW operate with childcare, kids club and relationship with amazing ESF instructors but the rest is a bit lacking in us toner service ( one couple did not even know about evening film club as there was no introduction to the club by any staff we just told to read the hotel info in our rooms and ask if any questions) we had such good engagements the other three holidays

Service rating : The staff were very good in spite of them receiving complaint after complaint regarding the hotel quality and the food standards. It was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and MW should be ashamed. We'll never book again.
Product : Overpriced and oversold. MW have had their day, they expect to charge higher prices and make higher margins by shoving guests in shabby, tired, deficient hotels. They shouldn't cover meals if the chef cannot cope.

Service rating : Friendly and helpful staff, holidays a little expensive but there are good out of season deals for skiing / watersports.
Product : Chalet is a bit old but has good facilities. Staff are excellent, I went earlier this year and will go again next year!

Service rating : The service we received was very good; the staff were very helpful. The food was plentiful but average unfortunately. the bar prices were excessive...3EURs for crisps!
Product : The staff were great and the whole holiday worked well but the hotel is too tired and needs to be made more comfortable. This is a running theme for MW chalets we have been to and is the reason we have decided not to use them again next year.

Service rating : The team in the hotel were friendly but didn't seem to know their stuff or go out of their way to help. For example Sam on the coach didn't know what time ski school was and ran out of piste maps, the girls on the reception desk didn't know which lift was free next to the hotel for our boys to use on the first afternoon; a quick google search and we answered it ourselves. I asked for an extra pillow on the first day as the one in the room was pathetically thin and I was told they would take a look but couldn't promise and they couldn't find one
Product : I was disappointed with the Hotel, it's in a great location but it really is tired; the décor is pretty old and the bunk beds in the boys room were ancient and looked like they would fall down at any moment. We chose this hotel because of the pool but the Jacuzzi & steam room wasn't working and then the pool was closed for half the week because the hotel had run out of chlorine! Biggest issue was the temperature in the hotel, the heating was on full blast all the time and there was no way of turning radiators down in the room as they were so ancient there were no thermostats. The worst was in the dining room where you felt sick eating dinner as it was so hot

We had very long wait on return as coach transfer got in 4 hours before flight.
Service in restaurant very mixed.
Product : Very clean rooms, some staff were very helpful and pleasant but quite a few hung round the bar, didn't make eye contact and just seemed disaffected. It felt as though it as the end of the season - didn't,'t feel as though there was enough management or leading from the top.

Menu's were pork and fish heavy - odd choices put together.

Service rating : Childcare for older kids (10 11 12) needs a revamp. The staff were however absolutely lovely although almost kids themselves.

Service rating : Overall a good company who do try to make the guests feel at home. The meals are excellent and the service very good. Despite my comments at (1 ) I will certainly use them again.
Product : Very nice helpful staff, and a very friendly feel to the hotel. The only downside was that the steam room was not always working (the same problem that I experienced during my stay on 10th to 17th January 2016) and on one day the swimming pool was far too cold to use. Having chosen this Chalet/Hotel, and paid full room rate for single occupancy on both occasions, I was not very pleased about this as I have a medical problem which requires swimming and steam/heat treatment on a daily basis.

Service rating : Well organised holiday - you don't need to think about the logistics, throughout your time there. Pleasant staff. We found it quite difficult to meet fellow travellers at first (on previous holidays we found that sitting people on larger tables together helped) so perhaps a few social events could help with that.
Product : The hotel was spacious and rooms were large and bright. The rooms could be a little tidier and there were times were they've run low on mugs and cutlery.
Great plus that you are able to pick up equipment from the basement and that you can virtually ski in ad out of the hotel.

Product : Food was a bit 'factory' and never having sorbet was careless. The TV being rubbish (not much choice and sound and vis not in synch) did not bother us but if we had had children might have been bad news. Having to fly so very early on the way out and the chaos at Grenoble are obviously not MW's fault but did detract a bit from the holiday.

Service rating : Everything was amazing except food. Staff were excellent and so helpful. Your child care staff were brilliant this year. Especially the girls on film club. Could not do enough to help at end of night. Lugging heavy children to bed without complaint and always smiling and happy. Outstanding customer service for such young girls. They should be congratulated.

Service rating : Really good customer service, but quite expensive
Product : The customer service was fantastic, the staff at the hotel were all extremely helpful and friendly. Having everything available on site (childcare, equipment hire and access to ski school booking) was brilliant and it made the holiday extremely relaxing. Similarly the ski in/ski out location was fantastic and it was a very short walk to the village and there were lots of sledging opportunities outside the front door.
The food was excellent, but the wine selection was disappointing given the location (France produces a huge range of affordable good wines, but this was not really showcased within what was on offer) and the additional cost of a 'house' or 'premium' wine was prohibitive.
The hotel itself is somewhat dated, the bathroom facilities in the room are extremely poorly ventilated meaning that smells and damp tend to linger throughout the room.
Our main reason for choosing Mark Warner and this hotel was the childcare on offer, and whilst we can't fault the kindness and dedication of the individual staff looking after our child (who seemed very happy to stay with them), it was really disappointing that the childcare rooms were in a cellar with no external windows. On top of this, the toddlers didn't seem to spend much time outside (older children were outside most of the day) despite good weather and appropriate clothing. The swimming pool is also very basic, with limited changing and shower facilities and awkward steps for small children.

Product : Lovely staff, making the best they can of tired dated hotel, and equipment eg chipped cups, milk containers, handles missing off hot food containers .etc Pool light not working, hot tub empty, sauna out of order . Best thing about hotel is location - great for ski in , ski out . Food generally good, wine rather rough

Service rating : Mark Warner organises everything for you so you don't have to worry about it. The young and energetic staff are always positive and hard working. They are always willing to help you no matter what happens.
Product : The Berangere has a lovely "old world" European feel to it, which we loved. A very relaxed and comfy hotel, excellent for families, friends and small groups. Les Deux Alpes is a well established and friendly snow sure resort which is very proud, welcoming and French! The hotel has a perfect location on the slopes, with equipment rental available if needed in the basement next to the boot room and Viva salon, which is great for apres-ski massage and other pampering treatments.
