Europe’s most famous mountain range, the Alps is considered by many to be the world’s very best ski region.
The French Alps alone has the world’s large connected ski areas, allowing visitors to ski from one valley to the next, and perhaps even the one after that, and hence take in two or more top resorts on a day out.
But French Alps skiing holidays aren’t just for the experienced: there are masses of easy learning slopes, fun parks and intermediate pistes for beginners and improvers.
The Alps’ offerings range from traditional villages to purpose-built resorts, many of them traffic-free – a big plus for family ski holidays. Mark Warner operates in six snow-sure French Alps ski resorts, two resorts in the Austrian Alps and one in the Italian Alps, all of them handpicked for their excellent skiing but also for their other facilities, whether you seek busy nightlife or activities for the kids.
In the French Alps, we have cosy chalet-hotels in Tignes and Val d’Isère in the Espace Killy ski area, Courchevel and Méribel in the Three Valleys (Trois Vallées), La Plagne in Paradiski, and Les Deux Alpes.
Other than the French Alps, in Italy, we offer stylish, cobbled Courmayeur at the foot of Mont Blanc, while in Austria you can choose from charming, living St Anton in the Tyrol or delightful Zell am See on a sparkling lake in the state of Salzburg.
